Public bug reported: I've just installed a HP Microserver (N40L) with the latest installer from precise-updates/main/installer-amd64/20101020ubuntu136.9/images /quantal-netboot. [Bug 1202955] Re: (fakeraid) root device not activated during boot
I think I've traced it down to a problem with the logic in dmraid- activate Raid_Name=$(dmraid -i -r -cr /dev/$Node_Name | grep -vi No RAID disks | grep -vi formats discovered) activate_array $Raid_Name Here it tries to activate a subset of a raid10. (pdc_ebdeeaiceb-0, pdc_ebdeeaiceb-1) when it probably should try to activate the superset pdc_ebdeeaiceb I solved my problem replacing the line with this Raid_Name=$(dmraid -s -cr) And now it boots! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1202955 Title: (fakeraid) root device not activated during boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-lts-quantal/+bug/1202955/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 196283] [NEW] netboot hardy installer marvell sata disks not detected.
Public bug reported: 1) Ubuntu 8.04 hardy 2) netboot.tar.gz ? 3) 2008.02.26 4) Detect all my disks, allow me to partition them, and install. 5) 1 in every 20 boots, if i randomly tweak around with bios settings, it will detect the disks. The other 19 times, they are not detected. So I've actually managed to install on the disks previously. Under linux-2.6.24 they work as normal, this problem seems to arise whenever using the ubuntu-installer. Though I previously had the same symptoms when running linux-2.6.2{2,3} (tweaking bios, etc). Included for your viewing pleasure; dmesg, lsmod, lspci from the installer, and from an installed system. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- netboot hardy installer marvell sata disks not detected. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196283 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 131577] Re: [gutsy] No sound devices loaded for ICH7 Intel High Definition Audio Controller (which working fine in feisty)
taken directly from config-2.6.22-generic # CONFIG_SND_HDA_INTEL is not set Which explains why the module was not present in my custom kernel either. Once I compiled it, I got sound. -- [gutsy] No sound devices loaded for ICH7 Intel High Definition Audio Controller (which working fine in feisty) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Here's my output, using libata-dev kernel compiled with config-2.6.22-12-generic options. (I too have no sound, but snd-hda-intel is not in modules.) Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntu-base sarcasmSomeone decided that it would be funny to have a package in base to depend on openoffice-writer./sarcasm So after a netboot installation. [Bug 60442] Re: Dual / Two Batteries, shutdown on empty expansion battery. (GPM does not recognises second battery on hotplug)
Yep. This wasn't an issue in dapper with the older g-p-m. It's all g-p-m's fault. g-p-m sees both my batteries, and calculates the total time and total charge, but shuts down on one empty battery. -- Dual / Two Batteries, shutdown on empty expansion battery. [Bug 60826] pcspkr isn't default in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
Public bug reported: I'm sitting, listening to music, wearing earbuds. Suddenly a system beep comes along. BEEP! It apparently does not care about my volume settings. I should sue someone for temporary and possibly permanent hearing loss. On a slightly more serious note though; Come on... It's an annoyance for over 90% of the users out there.
