[Bug 1708382] [NEW] phpcomposer:Debian-suggest doesnt seem to work

2017-08-03 Thread Gijs Molenaar
Public bug reported:

hi!

I'm packaging up a PHP library using pkg-php-tools.

The package itself is twig-extensions.

I noticed that this statement:

 Suggests: ${phpcomposer:Debian-suggest}

here:

https://github.com/eduvpn-debian/twig-
extensions/blob/master/debian/control#L16

doesn't have much effect, while still a suggest statement is present in
the composer file:

https://github.com/eduvpn-debian/twig-
extensions/blob/master/composer.json#L21

Interesting is that I do see these warnings during package building:

 dpkg-gencontrol: warning: package php-twig-extensions: unused substitution
variable ${phpcomposer:name}
 dpkg-gencontrol: warning: package php-twig-extensions: unused substitution
variable ${phpcomposer:Debian-require-dev}
 dpkg-gencontrol: warning: package php-twig-extensions: unused substitution
variable ${phpcomposer:description}

But there is no warning about an unused suggest variable.

Am i doing something wrong?

thanks!

[Bug 1568872] [NEW] problems with numpy 1.9+, should compile with --disable-numarray and --disable-numeric

2016-04-11 Thread Gijs Molenaar
Public bug reported:

Dear Maintainer,

We are using python-qwt5-qt4 on Debian and Ubuntu and run into troubles
in combination with numpy 1.9+.

numarray and numeric subsystems for numpy have been depricated:
 * http://www.numpy.org/old_array_packages.html
 * http://docs.scipy.org/doc/numpy/reference/routines.numarray.html

pyqwt5 doesn't handle this well, and will generate errors when used.
Luckily this can be easily solved by adding --disable-numeric and
--disable-numarray
to the configure step:

[Bug 532495] Re: OpenCV 2.0 packages in lucid doesn't contain the new python API

2010-04-01 Thread Gijs Molenaar
I've made new Ubuntu OpenCV packages, based upon the latest Debian
package. I've modified it to use cmake and enabled the new Python API.
I've notified the debian maintainers also. Karmic and Lucid compatible.

I've made a small blog post about this:
http://gijs.pythonic.nl/blog/2010/apr/1/ubuntu-opencv-20-and-new-python-api/

Contact me for more info if required.

Yes. I'm using Ubuntu Lucid 64 bit (pre release at the moment, updated

I've applied the patch from here:

[Bug 532495] [NEW] OpenCV 2.0 packages in lucid doesn't contain the new python API

2010-03-05 Thread Gijs Molenaar
Public bug reported:

The OpenCV 2.0 packages in Lucid don't contain the new python API. it
can be enabled by enabling BUILD_NEW_PYTHON_SUPPORT with cmake. This
will result in a new cv.so file in the python modules directory
(opencv/* is the old swig based python driver).

** Affects: opencv (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

2009-05-28 Thread Gijs Molenaar
Isn't there any smart person who can give a hint what is causing this?

I'm quite starting to mis audio functionality with Ubuntu, since
switching to OSS doesn't fix all problems. For example flash audio
playback isn't working, causing many flash movies/apps to hang.

[Bug 311188] Re: Fails to find ffmpeg headers

2009-05-21 Thread Gijs Molenaar
This bug report is about the 1.0 release.

Using libswscale-dev maybe can help, I didn't find out about that
package untill now.

But for now my packages run fine, and no debian or ubuntu people are
reacting to the bug reports.

patch for opencv 1.0.0-6 + ffmpeg 3:0.svn20090303

2009-05-04 Thread Gijs Molenaar

Hi,

OpenCV video stuff wasn't working, this was because it wasn't compiling
against ffmpeg anymore. I don't know for sure where to report this, but
I think this is the right place.

I made a patch to fix this, see attachment. I'm not a very good C hacker
so there may be some problems, but for me it is working (and I had more
positive reports).

The patch is based upon the gentoo fix:
* http://bugs.gentoo.org/attachment.cgi?id=130219action=edit

The complete packages can also be downloaded from the launchpad PPA that
I created for this:

* https://launchpad.net/~gijzelaar/+archive/opencv

I hope this is useful.

[Bug 311188] Re: Fails to find ffmpeg headers

2009-05-03 Thread Gijs Molenaar
I'm a little bit worried, 2 months later now and there has been no
workaround or fix. OpenCV is almost unusable now with Ubuntu Jaunty, one
big reason why not to upgrade. Why is the importance low if this video
functionality isn't working for anyone? Not everyone using Ubuntu is
able to compile his/her own code and packages.

[Bug 311188] Re: Fails to find ffmpeg headers

2009-05-03 Thread Gijs Molenaar
Gentoo has a patch replacing img_convert():
http://bugs.gentoo.org/attachment.cgi?id=130219action=edit

I modified it to quilt format and applied it (see attachment), but a
build still fails. Now I'm really stuck, since my C/C++ skills are not
very good.

To get as far as I'm now:
* put the patch and the patch in the previous post in debian/patches
* modify the debian/patches/series file to include the patches
* add libswscale-dev to the build deps in the control file
* build - error

I tried it with a latest ffmpeg build and with the ffmpeg from the
ubuntu jaunty archives.

Build fail output:
 g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../.. -I. -I../../cxcore/include -I../../cv/include

[Bug 311188] Re: Fails to find ffmpeg headers

2009-05-03 Thread Gijs Molenaar
I got it working! No need for new ffmpeg. I made a new patch, and I
disabled the example Haar app.

Attached is the patch. I made a launchpad PPA with the working packages:
 * https://launchpad.net/~gijzelaar/+archive/opencv

I made a blog post about how to install the new packages:
 *
http://gijs.pythonic.nl/blog/2009/may/3/getting-video-io-working-opencv-and-ubuntu-jaunty-/

[Bug 367443] [NEW] No sound with UA-25 USB soundcard + pulseaudio

2009-04-26 Thread Gijs Molenaar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

I'm not 100% sure where to report this bug, so I do it here.

Using the default settings I have no audio playback with the edirol
UA-25 USB 2.0 and pulseaudio in ubuntu 9.04 (final). This was working
with ubuntu 8.10 (32/64).

When I try to play a mp3 file with rhythmbox it just doesn't start.
Flash audio players don't start. Just totally no sound, only during
login (I hear the ubuntu startup sound).

When I go to sound preferences (System - preferences - Sound) and I do the
following things:
* Sound events: autodetect - press test, no sound
* Music and movies: autodetect - press test, no sound
* Changing to alsa crashes sound preferences (it hangs, no response).
* Changing to pulse audio doesn't give test audio out.

Solution: Changing to OSS gives test signal, audio playback works. The
only problem is that I can't controle the volume now from the volume
widget.

[Bug 301840] Re: No drivers available for hpt302n PCI card

2009-02-26 Thread Gijs Molenaar
I have a rocketraid 1520 and after upgrading to intrepid the card also
stopped working. Both pata_hpt37x pata_hpt366 do nothing. I'm still
running linux-image-2.6.24-19-server from hardy now, since this seems
the only way for now. Is there any good way to solve this by now? I'm
searching the bug reports and nobody really has a 100% working solution.
Is my rocketraid card unusable with Ubuntu from now on in the future?

Anyway, this bug is still showing up in 8.04, rhythmbox still crashes
after a while, and I can't figure out why. I installed the rhythmbox
debug package and let it crash again, I also ran the valgrind program
again, but again it doesn't crash (I left it running for 45 minutes or
so).

Same situation, only I'm running 64 but ubuntu now on a quad core.

I tried it with, valgrind. It runs very slow (choppy audio), but it doesn't

_does_ crash.

[Bug 103634] [apport] rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance_is_a() when I start playing a song with edirol UA-25 USB sound device

2007-04-06 Thread Gijs Molenaar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When I start the program and add songs (mp3, ogg), everything is okay.
But when I start to play a song, I can listen to it for a couple of
seconds and then rythmbox crashes.

I have a edirol UA-25 USB audo device, which causes more problems in
Ubuntu. When I go to sound settings, I have to change the auto detect to
Usb audio, otherwise the test will fail (and the audio settings program
will crash also).
