[Bug 748527] Re: [EX58-UD5, Realtek ALC889A, Grey Line Out, Rear] No sound at all
After running alsamixer, I noticed there was an extra channel called Side 3 that was set to 0 (and it was the only one set to 0). Once I set it to 100, sound started working fine. I don't know whether this channel existed in maverick and whether it was set to 100 there. So sound works fine, it's just that the default mixer settings are incorrect in natty, and there is no other way (?) to change them than to go to console. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/748527 Title: [EX58-UD5, Realtek ALC889A, Grey Line Out, Rear] No sound at all -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Vish, please. Read what the other bug is about. Then, read what this one bug is about. And, even god made mistakes. In that case, Paul did one. those two bugs are not the same one. PLUS, you are now insulting me. You don't even want to discuss, and are looking down to me. Just to tell you how you make me feel. So please, next time someone telle you you did wrong, DONT say no before really considering his point of view. If you don't have time to think of it, let someone else answer. The error of Paul has been corrected after one year, so it's not a problem if my error takes another one year before being corrected - at least you will not offense me. Removing the duplicate bug. [Bug 709425] [NEW] Trash crashed as I've tried to move a file (Untitled.skp) from Nautilus
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Ubuntu 10.10 First, I'm not sure it's directly linked to Nautilus. I've moved a file called Untitled.skp from my Home folder to the GNOME's Trash applet. The computer has booted around five minutes before the bugs happened. The interface I'm using is the original shipped one. I dragged the file twice. As usual, I took it would take a certain time before disappearing, but it didn't. I tried again. My cursor kept it appearance (dragging one), but still cold move. System was unresponsive : no way to click on icons, windows, workspaces, etc... Some keys combinations was still available such as Ctrl+Alt+F1:F8, Ctrl+Alt+Del. To fill requirements, I've expected the file to be deleted as usual, but it crashed like described upper. If crash of that kind are considered like security vulnerability, I let you decide about it. Also, if you want a copy of the file (maybe it's about it..), it'll be on attachment. I'll give it another try, and confirm if it's really about it. Thank you very much for your time! You are all amazing!! [Bug 663535] Re: Extreme poor Video Quality in Empathy (jabber)
I tested empathy - empathy with both the libx264 fixes. The received video was switching between a few seconds of good image and then some grey shit. As said in the upstream bug ( https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=633809 ) that's actually a libx264 bug. Our options are: A) Fix libx264 : http://git.videolan.org/?p=x264.git;a=commitdiff;h=3d0d9cda1d39239e9f388fe1fce29c9212d0273c and http://git.videolan.org/?p=x264.git;a=commitdiff;h=5f104e9957cc4b69f7197fecf93648a0e2ae0e59 B) Get the workaround in gst ugly : http://cgit.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gst-plugins- ugly/commit/?id=6f2db739aed240d080b6a9cfe28ac1ec6d2c753c C) Disable the setting in Empathy. [Bug 659030] [NEW] Hang when playing sounds (82801JI) after upgrading to maverick
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pulseaudio I've recently upgraded from Lucid to Maverick and the sound system does not work properly anymore. After a few minutes playing sounds, the sound output will stutter then stop, and the system will become sluggish. If I'm fast enough in killing pulseaudio (pulseaudio -k), I recover a working system and sound too. Otherwise, the system will hang hard; not even SysRq magic is working. The hardware is a motherboard chipset: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio Controller. The working system was kernel 2.6.32-25 and pulseaudio 1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu14. The nonworking system is kernel 2.6.35-22 and pulseaudio 1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu21. Unfortunately, the logs do not contain anything relevant at the time the system breaks down. In case it helps, there is the following message at system start though (which I didn't have in Lucid): Oct 12 10:08:41 saline pulseaudio[1726]: alsa-util.c: snd_pcm_avail_delay() returned strange values: delay 0 is less than avail 16.
