2008-10-10 Thread Kasper Johns
Here's lspci:

03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR242x 802.11abg
Wireless PCI Express Adapter (rev 01)

Ethernet works, wireless is in use, but does not work/detects and
networks.

Just installed latest updates. I'm looking forward for this to be fixed!

[Bug 267141] Re: suspend button disappears after pm-utils upgraded to 1.1.2.4-1ubuntu2

2008-10-07 Thread Kasper Johns
I can't suspend on Lenovo Thinkpad X200 with Intel GMA X4500. Have this
problem been fixed yet? Or will it be fixed for final release?

[Bug 273899] Re: IBM thinkpad X200 use G45 and gma 4500 abnormal display 1280 x 800.

2008-10-03 Thread Kasper Johns
I can confirm this bug. Running Thinkpad X200 with Intel GMA X4500. For
some reason the Screen Resolution app seems to think that I have three
screens when I uncheck the mirror thingy.

As said above, when correct resolution (1280x800) is set, it draws the
right pixels and such, but the stretched area on the right-bottom side
has ugly artifacts with mostly black areas and a few colors.

Ubuntu beta 8.10 x86_64.

Also, suspend does not work. It manage to show the cursor on the wake-
up.. Probably roots to the same error as above I think.

[Bug 259157] Re: [MASTER 0.7 regression] atheros/madwifi and orinoco drivers not supported

2008-10-03 Thread Kasper Johns
Jusrt a heads up. My driver seems to be in use and tested by the
Ubuntu devs, but Networkmanager (applet) cannot find any
signals/wireless locations. Are there any workarounds?

Upon 2-3 restart, the resolution seems to be correct and with no
distortion... Don't know why. Haven't used the system.

[Bug 211302] Re: [hardy] resume displays Policy timeout is not valid. Please wait a few seconds and try again

2008-09-17 Thread Kasper Johns
Iæm affected by this too (aren't everybody?). I understand it could be a
feature, but it's more annoying than helpful. Is it difficult fix or is
just forgotten on the TO DO list? ;)

[Bug 267375] [NEW] Thinkpad X200 can't start GUI

2008-09-07 Thread Kasper Johns
Public bug reported:

I downloaded Ubuntu Intrepid Alpha5 and used unetbootin to put it on a
USB stick. It boots fine, but I get a black screen when the splash bar
completes (loading gdm/gui I think). It flickeres a bit, then is still
and later reboots. This is a very new laptop with Centrino 2 and
integrated intel X4500. It's supposed to be support by kernel .27
though..

I don't have a cd reader right now (it's a small 12 laptop), but I
don't think that's the problem..

Hope we get this fixed :)

[Bug 219880] Re: Rhythmbox notify not displayed

2008-04-27 Thread Kasper Johns
I noticed this might be because Rhythmbox says there are missing files
(almost my whole library), and all those do not give any notification.
There has been a few songs were a notification has been displayed when
they are played, and I believe those do not have this error (Missing
files).

The odd thing is that those missing files can be viewed and played
(automatically) in the Rhythmbox browser.

[Bug 219880] Re: Rhythmbox notify not displayed

2008-04-27 Thread Kasper Johns
Other Music players (Exaile, MPD) does not have this missing files
issue, and maybe therefor they can display notifications on every song
change (just guessing)?

Off topic: Is it possible to edit posts?

[Bug 219880] Re: Rhythmbox notify not displayed

2008-04-27 Thread Kasper Johns
It seams that the missing files was just because my external hdd
(where my music is stored), had moved location (reboot fixed it). Still,
notifications are not displayed and creating a new user didn't change
anything.
