[Bug 1461649] [NEW] Dash-button does not show my programs
Public bug reported: When i click on the dash-button, or press the windows-key, it has taken longer and longer time for my programs to appear. Now they don't appear at all. The programs which don't use the dash-button still works. I get the text There is nothing which matches your search in Swedish. If i type in a program after pressing the dash-key, i get the same response. If i go around this error and start a terminal-window, then the same text result in program starting. I can confirm this bug. My PC has a 160 GB sata harddisc patitioned inte 1 NTFS-partition (31 GB) which i use for microsoft xp and a Linux- partition (130 GB) which i just upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 . Before this update, Ubuntu had no problem accessing the NTFS-partition. Now when i try to access the NTFS-partition from Ubuntu, i get the error-message: Failed to mount the 31 GB volume. Adding read ACL for uid 1000 '/media/magnus' failed. [Bug 1041507] [NEW] I cannot access most normal programs
Public bug reported: When i start Ubuntu, i end up with a screen where on the top left corner there is a circle with 3 dots. When i click on that circle, i can access all of my installed programs. The error now is that when i click on the circle almost nothing happens. I get a small arrow to the right of the circle, but none of my programs appear. This used to be a sometimes bug which happened only sometimes when i start my computer, so i could get around the bug by restarting my computer. I have now restarted my computer and the error remans. Because the starter doesn't work, i cannot atach information that requires the starter to work such as apt or lsb. [Bug 906624] [NEW] I failed to install gmp 5.02
Public bug reported: I have had some problems with gmp (Gnu bignum C-library) so i tried to install a new version. When i followed the install-instructions until the command make install. It gave the error-message: couldn't create directory /usr/local/share/info : access denied. Whats wrong? Is it 1: Gmp-install shouldn't mess with /usr/local/share/-directory? or 2: Gmp-install should be allowed to make new directories there? [Bug 896945] [NEW] I cannot install this 32-bit program on my 64-bit computer
Public bug reported: I tried to install a 32-bit-program on my 64-bit computer and i got the error-message: Wrong architecture i386 . I don't know if this is a bug or a misfeature, but there should be a 32-bit-mode so when my computer encounters a 32-bit-program it should pretend to be a 32-bit computer for that program. I believe that Microsoft has something like this on their 64-bit operating-systems. [Bug 841989] [NEW] Install 11.04 crashed on a 11.10 pc
Public bug reported: I had a bad xp and ubuntu 11.04 on my pc with 1 harddisc. I agreed to to try the alfa to ubuntu 11.10. I reinstalled xp to have something that works while the alfa is being improved. Xp killed grub. I used an ubuntu 11.04 cd to try to reinstall grub (and ubuntu). It crashed with a message: Report this bug without adding any text and attach these 2 files. I can only attach 1 file to this error-report and i must write something in this text-box. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I use Ubuntu 10.10 . I use evolution emai-client. when i start my evolution, i expect to see my email-account to the left. This sunday when i started evolution, i did not see my email-account to the left, so i couldn't see my email-folders or my emails. when i told evolution to get my emails, it said that it did. when i did ctrl-shift-s to see my email-account it is there. My email-account is a pop3-account where i store all the emails i send and recieve (except the spam-mail) in my inbox and sent mail. My folders still seems to exists under ~/.evolution/mail/local . I started 2 new email-accounts since this problem started: One general dummy and one gmail-imap account. The dummy did not show up to the left, but the gmail does, and it works. When i try to do folders-subscriptions (in swedish mapp-prenumerationer), then it says that my old account doesn't support that. 2 other persons who unlike me use the operating system Microsoft xp and the email-client thunderbird have recently told me that their pop3-email-accounts have also dissappeared in the same way as mine. My conclusion is that there must be something in common between ubuntu 10.10 evolution-users and microsoft xp thunderbird-users that makes old pop3-aacounts disappear. We all use NAT (Network Adress Translation). I use another network then the others. Now, the error has improved, but not dissapeared. I changed the gstreamer-option to alsa as suggested, and now i can get some sound from both Rythmbox and Totem. I have found an .ogg-file on my computer that works in both programs. The error which still remains is: When i try to listen to radio over internet at www.sr.se i fail.
