Re: [ubuntu-uk] Hello is it possible for me to buy a ubuntu dvd

2021-05-28 Thread Mark Dorrington
Hello Steven

Many Thanks for your e-mail i have one laptop with windows of which i use
for multimedia and a laptop i use ubuntu linux

For general internet search as ubuntu has better security package than
windows.

I have just bought a netbook as my other ubuntu laptop broke down it
currently has ubuntu mate installed on it but it is an older version.

As regards to the printer driver i have downloaded previously from the
brother website the LPR and CUPSwrapper driver.

I install each debian file via GDebi Package installer and it installs
successfully but after that when it try to print
from a webpage nothing printer is on and the usb cable is fully inserted
into the usb port.

I tried to print from mozilla firefox

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Many Thanks

Mark.

[ubuntu-uk] Hello is it possible for me to buy a ubuntu dvd

2021-05-28 Thread Mark Dorrington
As unfortunately i have to use pay as you go for my internet and the
ubuntu .iso
download is a huge download taken on my data allowance.

Also is there a version of ubuntu that includes software such as drivers
and media
players such as vlc media player so it can install the operating system and
the other
software such as drivers and media players with having to use the internet.

I am also having s struggle getting these drivers to work:

https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=gb=en=dcp195c_all=128

If you could please help me i would be highly grateful!

Many Thanks
