The problem is back. This time I let the restart process wait for
several minutes. See this output.

Seems the same problem where killing doesn't work.

[Bug 1910405] Re: bluetoothd hangs and cannot be killed

2021-01-11 Thread Peter Dedecker
For some reason, killing the bluetoothd process just worked today unlike
previous attempts in the past days. The problem of the headset loosing
connection during a meeting, blocking the bluetooth process and settings
interface, still occurs requiring a restart of the bluetooth service and
the headset itself.

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

  Hi,

When having a bluetooth headphone (JBL Live) connected using the A2DP
pulseaudio sink, the output sound suddenly stops during a music
streaming of videocall session. Sometimes just disconnecting and
reconnecting the headphone works, but some times reconnection is not
possible anymore due to the hanging of bluetoothd. Bluetoothd still
appears in the processes list, but cannot be killed, neither with "sudo
service bluetooth stop" or "kill -9":

$ ps afx | grep blue

All programs keep working normally, only bluetooth is affected as well
  as the bluetooth settings page.

The only solution is a hard reboot. A soft reboot doesn't even work: the
systems keeps trying to end the bluetoothd process so one needs to press
the power button for a few seconds to terminate the process.

[Bug 1910768] [NEW] apport-collect hangs and makes computer hang

2021-01-08 Thread Peter Dedecker
Public bug reported:

This bug is related to bug 1723558
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1723558) but I
could not transfer the generated information.

After a crash of bluetoothd (see bug 1910405) I tried to run apport-
collect with the bug ID, but the process hangs. After clicking cancel,
it makes the computer hang totally, except running teams calls that keep
streaming but without interaction possible. All is released when apport
is killed manually.

The problem also occurs when a crash of the Brave browser causes a call
to apport.

This bug is generated through ubuntu-bug -w after clicking on the
apport-collect window. This second apport process doesn't hang.

[Bug 457494] [NEW] beid-pkcs11-tool shows no slots

2009-10-21 Thread Peter Dedecker
Public bug reported:

2.6.0-7ubuntu1, libbeid2 2.6.0-7ubuntu1, pcscd 1.5.3-1ubuntu1

With a BE-IDcard in the SC-slot, I get following output:

$ beid-pkcs11-tool -L

[Bug 268986] [NEW] VirtualBox segfault at 00000018

2008-09-11 Thread Peter Dedecker
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose

I configured a bridged host interface network following the steps from the
script in the user manual. When running a virtual machine (simple machine with
only the Voyage Linux LiveCD, http://linux.voyage.hk/) the virtual machine
closes during the boot process and following message appears in dmesg,
everytime the same message:
VirtualBox[(pid)]: segfault at 0018 eip b5dace5f esp b3dd9840 error 4

As I had some dependency problems with the kernel module, I installed it
by using the package virtualbox-ose-source and module-assistant auto-
install virtualbox-ose

I am using virtualbox-ose-1.5.6-dfsg-6ubuntu1 on Hardy.

 This is really low yes.

At my point of view this is mainly due to company that pay to install
 bullshit like Norton, etc...

So if they sell computer with Windows, they can install these software
and they can get back money to make windows licence cheaper.

The best thing you can do is to buy from small bussiness and not the big

In fact, if you make a phonecall to Dell, you can ask for a Latitude
without Windows. They give a discount of 50 € then. For Inspiron, this
is not possible as far as I know.

Two years ago, as computer responsible of a student organisation, VTK, I
sold computers without OS (or with FreeDOS) to students directly from
Dell. No problem for Latitude.

Good luck!

 Mooi initiatief!

Toch enkele vragen i.v.m. de school:

thuiscomputer of zoiets.
