[Bug 1455323] Re: Regression in KDE5 desktop session save / restore

2015-12-04 Thread Pim Klanke
A few weeks ago, directly after updating to 15.10, it did seem to work.
Apparently this was just luck, because now nothing seems to be restored.
When manually restarting Firefox, it tries to restore its windows, but
dumps them all on the current desktop.

[Bug 1455323] Re: Regression in KDE5 desktop session save / restore

2015-11-02 Thread Pim Klanke
Thanks to bewam for his comment
The update to 15.10 has solved the problem for me to.

Apparently the problem was in storing the session info; After the update
and restart to 15.10 I still had to do a manual restore. After next
restart all was restored with respect to desktop and screen.

When working with multiple screens, the session save / restore function
in KDE5 no longer respects the screen either.

[Bug 457256] [NEW] Kate session not loaded on KDE session restore

2009-10-21 Thread Pim Klanke
Public bug reported:

Running Kate 3.3.2 using KDE 4.3.2 Ubuntu 9.10 (21 Oct 2009)

I use KDE session management, to restore my last session after
reboot/logout. What I expect from Kate after reboot it restores my last
opened session, including all plugins (in my case the Tab Bar and the
Symbol List).

What happens when Kate is restored after reboot, is that all files are
restored, but the plugins (in my case Tab Bar and Symbol List) are not
restored. I do not know what/if other options are also not restored

With the Kate option 'Save Session on Application Exit or Session
Switch' disabled, a work around is to switch session and then reload the
initial session. With the 'Save Session' option enabled, it saves the
wrongly loaded session when switching to another session. After this the
original settings are lost.
