[Bug 931261] [NEW] Too much power consumption in Unity 2D
Public bug reported: Hi, I am using Ubuntu 12.04. Compiz doesn't behave nicely with citrix applications so I moved to Unity 2D. I am noticing that in ubuntu 3D I had 4 hours of battery backup left and in Unity 2D it dropped to 1 hr 20 min !!! I waited for the backup time to stabilize as I thought it was due to too much disk and processor activity just after login. But its stable at this time. I clicked on battery and it was showing 26 something watts power consumption. The only difference between the two sessions I had was Unity 2D session instead of 3D session. I am not able to attach a screenshot as after I selected processor wakeups tab it went blank, I will try to attach it later.
