[Bug 579704] Re: Specified mouse pointer size broken in Lucid
I found it affects all windows, independent from the program running on a clean 32 bit installation with ATI graphics. I tried to get ComixCursors-Green-Regular, which was the choice inside windows and infront of the desktop. But it changed to ComixCursors-Black-Large on window borders, window title bars and panels. sudo update-alternatives --config x-cursor-theme did not change anything, so I switched off compiz and this did the trick. After reactivating compiz changes were accepted and the pointer displayed the same cursor on window borders as well as inside window boundaries. I'll try to reproduce that on a clean install on Wednesday. The affected computer is my girlfriend's one and she'll kill me if I try to reproduce the bug. [Bug 578654] Re: Firefox mixes up multiple profiles and logins
Thanks for taking the time and report this. This is not a bug but intended behaviour. If you start firefox the profile gets locked (if you open the profile you'll find a file called 'lock') and no other instance of firefox may use this profile. Otherwise both instances would try to write files in this profile and the profile could get corrupted. The only solution in this shared enviroment is to close one instance before using another. [Bug 472668] Re: bad diction in english original makes translation difficult or impossible
Hi, thanks for your work in fixing/ updating the Kubuntu Docs. At first I am very thankful that you have deleted these awful repeatings of hints how to open applications. Unfortunatly there are still (new!) texts which are dicted in an awful way. They even do not make sense in english! Example: »acronymKDE/acronym is similar to phraseGNOME/phrase in many ways, but there are distinct differences which distinguish acronymKDE/acronym as a desktop environment. « two times differences...the first one is a »distinct difference« which »distinguishes«... to distinguish something is the nature of a difference ;-) Anyway, to get a good translation to some degree (it is then still far far away from perfect) I'll have to cut out words and the sense would be for sure different to the sense which was intended by the original Author. If we do it like this, we do not need to translate. Then every language team can create their own texts. Which makes no sense either. praising something as good, distinct and so on is generally okay. But the result should be that the text still makes sense. With this, the translation of Kubuntu Docs is AGAIN very difficult, I have to cut out lots of words - the sense is different in german -- resulting in the same as before. There are of course still lots of more examples for bad dictions in the (new) Kubuntu Docs. It is still very difficult to translate Kubuntu Docs and the results are not professional. Please review your texts and change your mind regarding formulation style. Thanks regards Steffen ** Changed in: kubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- bad diction in english original makes translation difficult or impossible https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/472668 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kubuntu-docs in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 544596] Re: Songs not transferred from music store to U1 storage
Well. I bought another album and everything was fine this time. The problem with the first one is still there. Some files downloaded. Some not. So, I was watching what exactly happens... What if the freezing downloads to U1 storage have sth. to do with filenames? In my case there are different remixes of songs. In the store they are called differently - Song1 (single) and Song1 (remix). But the downloaded file on U1 storage is always named - Song1.mp3 -- Songs not transferred from music store to U1 storage https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/544596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 544596] Re: Songs not transferred from music store to U1 storage
Bought a 17 track album some 14+ hours ago. Still 3 tracks are not downloaded from the shop to Ubuntu One. They have the status Preparing for download. Also some files changed mysteriously their downloaded/preparing status. And at the moment I have one track more locally in Rhythmbox than in the U1 web interface. [Bug 544596] Re: Songs not transferred from music store to U1 storage
...so I did another test. Deleted everything in Rhytmbox AND Ubuntu One storage. Then started Rhytmbox again and connected to the music store. The Your Downloads Page again reports exactly the same three files as Preparing your download and all other tracks as Downloading to your storage. But nothings happens at all! No files are shown in the Ubuntu One web interface.
