+1 for ThinkPad x260. Suspend used to work flawlessly with 21.10 and now
won't resume with 22.04.

[Bug 1880667] Re: package codeblocks-dev 20.03-3 failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/include/codeblocks/Alignment.h', which is also in package codeblocks-headers 20.03

2020-05-26 Thread Teodor Petrov
Using packages meant for debian won't work I suppose. Unfortuantely the
packages for 20.04 failed to build on launchpad, so I have to find the
time what have changed there. :( Until then building packages from
source is probably the only option.

[Bug 1735677] [NEW] Elan touchpad not working (elan_i2c invalid report id data)

2017-12-01 Thread Teodor Sobczak
Public bug reported:

This bug is similar to this one:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1683508

I file this as a separate one as suggested by @Kai-Heng Feng.

1.I am currently using Ubuntu 16.04.3, but I reproduced this bug on Linux Mint
18.3 (based on 16.04 as well) and on Ubuntu-Mate 17.10. This is a fresh
install, not a dist-upgrade.
My laptop is Lenovo Ideapad 320 A6 (very similar laptop configuration to
Ideapad 320 ARB).CPU: AMD A6-9220, GPU: RADEON R4

2. Affected Kernel version: 4.13.0-17
Elan Touchpad driver is not working correctly (?)

3. I expected Touchpad to work normally, after installation.

4. Touchpad works for up to 60 seconds and than stops completely. My syslog is
spamed with
"elan_i2c i2c-ELAN060B:00: invalid report id data (ff)".
I can make touchpad stop working in about 10 seconds if I move mouse a lot. In
attached syslog, You can see 938 error messages in span of 10 seconds. The more
I move/click, the faster it freezes.

In this version of kernel xinput is detecting hardware. In earlier
versions (kernels 4.4*, 4.10*) there was no touchpad detected.

teo@widelec:~$ xinput
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2[master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointerid=4[slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ PixArt USB Optical Mouse id=9[slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Elan Touchpad id=12 [slave pointer (2)]

↳ Ideapad extra buttons id=11 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=13 [slave keyboard (3)]

What I tried:
1. Kernel upgrades
2. Adding different set of options into grub configuration (i8042.reset, nopnp,
nomux)
3. Switching on and off elan_i2c module.
4. Changing xserver-xorg-input-libinput to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics and
removing xserver-xorg-input-evdev

[Bug 1683508] Re: touchpad not working (elan_i2c invalid report id data)

2017-11-30 Thread Teodor Sobczak
I can confirm that this bug affects kernels up to 4.13.0-17 but it is a little
better on that one.
Tested it on Ubuntu 16.04.3, Ubuntu Mate 17.10 and Linux Mint 18.3.

I have: Lenovo Ideapad 320 (very similar to @Vasilj). Today I tried to fix this
bug with different methods with no results.
I tried:
All workaround provided on this site, puting different set of options into grub
configuration (i8042.reset, nopnp, nomux), switching on and off elan_i2c
module. Even tried changing libinput to synaptics.

In kernel lower than 4.13 xinput did not show any signs of Elana Touchpad. In
kernel 4.13.0-17 xinput shows Elan Touchpad.
But the biggest improvement is that my pointer actually works for a very brief
moment (30-60 sec). In this time syslog is massively flooded with "invalid
report id data".

[Bug 1710424] [NEW] Apply some patches to codeblocks to make it less crash

2017-08-12 Thread Teodor Petrov
Public bug reported:

Hello, I'm one of the developers of codeblocks.

I've pushed some fixes to the release-16.xx patch that affect distributions
building codeblocks against wx3.x.
The revisions in question are 11140 to 11144
You can find the commit log here
https://sourceforge.net/p/codeblocks/code/11144/log/

These fix two common problems, which are pretty bad:
https://sourceforge.net/p/codeblocks/tickets/225/ (more of a workaround for now)
https://sourceforge.net/p/codeblocks/tickets/524/

I'll be happy if you can apply them to the 16.01 packages.

Best regards,
Teodor

Used to work for me immediately after upgrade. Then I've installed
pidgin-libnotify, and hit the problem described above. After removing
pidgin-libnotify it still doesn't work.

[Bug 1117715] [NEW] Ubuntu One crashes with IPCError if Ubuntu One folder replaced with symbolic link

2013-02-06 Thread Teodor G
Public bug reported:

Hi. Due to lack of space, I decided to move the ~/Ubuntu One folder
somewhere on a different partition, where I had more available space.
After replacing ~/Ubuntu One with a symbolic link pointing to where I
moved it, I restarted Ubuntu One, only to find that it crashes with an
IPCError.

Sorry, an error has occurred and Ubuntu One needs to close.

Reading through other bug reports, I deleted everything related to
Ubuntu One, reinstalled it and, after a restart, it worked (it recreated
the~/Ubuntu One folder). I did again the symbolic link switch and... I
was back at the IPCError message.

Situation: I don't have enough room on my ~/ to store the 5 GB allowed
by Ubuntu One. I need to use symbolic links (with Dropbox it works)...
but I just get IPCErrors.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.10 and the latest Ubuntu One available.

[Bug 976473] [NEW] Can't send or receive files via bluetooth in kde

2012-04-08 Thread Teodor Milkov
Public bug reported:

Sounds similar to #664079, but since I'm on 12.04 Precise I figured I'd
better open a new bug and just reference the older one.

I can successfuly pair my Dell Streak 5 (Android 2.3.3) with my ThinkPad
X41 (Kubuntu 12.04), but then can't neither send nor receive files.

On trying to send file from Phone to Laptop, Phone says: Bluetooth
share: test.txt not sent.. Laptop remains silent.

Any idea how to debug this?

I don't know because i am using Ubuntu 10.4 now... I manage to overcome the
problem by choosing another keyboard layout from cedilla, standard and there
were more... But I don't remember what it was...
As i assume, the problem was that the keys were assigned different ascii codes
the those characters and not all fonts knew these codes.

[Bug 439138] Re: [karmic] Xorg 100% CPU utilization -- only after first login

2009-10-06 Thread Teodor Milkov
I'm not sure this is the same bug - but the timing and symptoms are the
same. In my case though DRM is failing. It says:

[1.698032] [drm:drm_fill_in_dev] *ERROR* Cannot initialize the agpgart
module.
[1.698157] [drm:intelfb_restore] *ERROR* Failed to restore crtc
configuration: -22
[1.698216] DRM: Fill_in_dev failed.

If I logout from X, modprobe -r i915 drm, modprobe i915 and then
restart X it's fast again. For the record: I'm an SSD user.

[Bug 294830] Re: latest pcscd causes crash of firefox

2009-07-05 Thread Teodor Milkov
It seems current versions of OpenSC/OpenCT work fine with my OmniKey
6121. So I'm going to use the OpenSC supplied PKCS#11 library and NOT
the proprietary (HiPath SIcurity Card API V3.1.010) PKCS#11 library.
Problem solved for me.

[Bug 294830] Re: latest pcscd causes crash of firefox

2009-07-05 Thread Teodor Milkov
I'm aware there's no direct relation between firefox and pcscd. It is
incompatibility between PKCS#11 shared object and pcscd causes firefox
to crash. Nevertheless I haven't changed my PKCS#11 library (and there's
no newer version) and it is the pcscd upgrade that led to firefox
crashes.

I'm going to try to figure this out with my smart card vendor or maybe
using opensc.

2009-02-22 Thread Teodor Sobczak
keithieopia wrote Kernel 2.6.27-9 appears to fix this bug under
Ubuntu Intrepid

Unfortunately it's not true.
Programs running: Open Office, vlc. Today no firefox.
Every symptom like in this case. I couldn't check system monitor because
everything stoped. No entries in log.

My kernel is 2.6.27-11 - generic.

I'm also affected by this bug.

OmniKey 6121 + HiPath SIcurity Card API V3.1.010.

It used to work fine with Hardy.
