Public bug reported: Hi. Due to lack of space, I decided to move the ~/Ubuntu One folder somewhere on a different partition, where I had more available space. After replacing ~/Ubuntu One with a symbolic link pointing to where I moved it, I restarted Ubuntu One, only to find that it crashes with an IPCError.
"Sorry, an error has occurred and Ubuntu One needs to close." Reading through other bug reports, I deleted everything related to Ubuntu One, reinstalled it and, after a restart, it worked (it recreated the~/Ubuntu One folder). I did again the symbolic link switch and... I was back at the IPCError message. Situation: I don't have enough room on my ~/ to store the 5 GB allowed by Ubuntu One. I need to use symbolic links (with Dropbox it works)... but I just get IPCErrors. I'm using Ubuntu 12.10 and the latest Ubuntu One available. ** Affects: ubuntuone-client (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ipcerror symbolic-link ubuntuone -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1117715 Title: Ubuntu One crashes with IPCError if Ubuntu One folder replaced with symbolic link To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntuone-client/+bug/1117715/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
