Re: [Mythbuntu-bugs] [Bug 1850746] Re: mythtv-backend-setup fails to add user to group mythtv under XFCE
Tickets for this should probably be forwarded upstream, hopefully with a patch. As it stands now, there aren't much eyes on this package and I don't have a way to test this anymore as I don't use MythTV nor Ubuntu. Re: [ubuntu-mythtv] i386 EOL plans for Mythbuntu?
Hello Brian, We already don't ship ISOs for non-LTS releases, so I see this as 2 questions. 1) Whether we want to have an 32-bit ISO for 18.04 2) What to do regarding packages for 16.10. Regarding #2, I'd like to wait and see what Ubuntu does for 16.10. I'd also like to check if the MythTV smolt data contains information on if the CPUs have 64-bit support. For #1, the answer may be a little easier. I'm leaning toward dropping ISOs completely pending my move to snap packaging. I've thought the concept of snaps made the most sense for MythTV since they came about a few years ago. Ideally, I'd like to be able to say "install snappy core, then install the mythtv snap" although I understand it won't be quite that simple. [Bug 1442773] Re: PPA for Ubuntu 15.04 missing systemd integration
There are 2 issues I'm working currently through for 16.04. 1) mythtv-backend isn't set to start at boot. This actually looks fairly trivial to fix as there is a dh_ script to assist with enabling this. I've just pushed this fix to the 0.28 packaging. 2) mysql listens on localhost only due to their config file. There is a new conf file in mysql that gets read after ours making mysql listen on localhost only. I think I've got an idea for fixing this. 3) The database we ship doesn't work quite right without firing off mythtv-setup first. I think I've got a handle on this, just need some time to fix this. The service file is installed in the right location and works. Just these other kinks that need worked out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1442773 Title: PPA for Ubuntu 15.04 missing systemd integration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/+bug/1442773/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This looks to be the same bug as https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1074120 Reproducible by installing Kubuntu (maybe any non-gnome based flavor), installing virt-manager and trying to make a new VM. Looks to be a dependency issue as qemu-kvm is missing. Maybe virt-manager should depend on qemu-kvm (or at least recommend). Re: [Ubuntu Oregon] Release party?
My only reason for saying to not do dueling events is so we aren't doing an event in salem that only 10 people show up to because everyone already went to (or plans to go) to the PDX version. I'll plan to attend a 16.04 event in either portland or salem. I think a poll is a good idea, but don't make it a Would you rather go to an Ubuntu event in portland or salem (because obviously more people would rather go to the closer event). I'd rather ask Would you go to a 16.04 release party in salem if there wasn't a release party in PDX. We did an event at free geek for the 7.10 release I think (it was our first event). I've not been back since, so IDK if they have improved their venue but IIRC there was no setup for talks (projector). On Sun, Apr 26, 2015 at 3:58 PM Benjamin Kerensa bkere...@gmail.com wrote: If folks want to just do one event in Salem I'm cool with that and can plan not to organize but ultimately I probably wont be able to attend as I do not currently have a car but I also am concerned other PDX folks might not come down to Salem. Perhaps polling might be a good idea? Then we would know which location might be more succesful in terms of turnout? Also it doesn't have to be downtown we could do FreeGeek and Mozilla can cover the food and drinks there too. Perhaps I could also see if Mozilla will just cover me a car rental down and come that way and do food/bev in Salem? I'd say lets throw a 16.04 party there, but I have a feeling the PDX crowd will try to throw one as well since it's an LTS release. In any case, I'll throw in ~$100 for the venue and some pizza (although we'll definitely need more pizza money). I do have a few questions about the broadway commons venue. 1) Are we charged for the coffee shuttles per number of people that attend, or by the room size? Lets say we get a room with seating for 60 people but only 40 people attend. What is the charge? 2) Are the coffee shuttles limited to coffee? [Bug 1446617] Re: Version numbers in ppa packages don't support ubuntu upgrades
I don't think this is something we can fix. Even if we put in the ubuntu release name, there will still be instances where it wouldn't upgrade properly. For instance 2:0.27.4+fixes.20150418.7860e91-0ubuntu0mythbuntu4 is currently the latest PPA build and is available for trusty. Even if we put in the ubuntu release number, a user upgrading to utopic would only get 2:0.27.1, which isn't newer than the PPA. The correct, recommended method would be to reactivate the PPA after upgrading. If someone could out a way to do it, I would consider puting it in. ** Changed in: mythtv (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1446617 Title: Version numbers in ppa packages don't support ubuntu upgrades To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythtv/+bug/1446617/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Actually, just tested modifying the files and I cannot reproduce what you are seeing. Thank you for helping to improve Mythbuntu by opening this ticket. Is there any way that you can test a newer revision by choosing 0.27 after activating the mythtv repos (per http://www.mythbuntu.org/repos)? We need to verify the problem still exists there before moving further. (Mostly because this should have been fixed a few days ago). Re: [ubuntu-mythtv] Providing Mirror on a Linode
Hello JD, We will only add ISO mirrors to our scripts. Daily builds only reside on PPAs. In order to be a mirror, we'll need to know a few things. How much bandwidth can you provide in a month? Our scripts are basic round robin scripts, so we can't guarantee that is all you would receive in a month but it would be balanced among the others. Where is the physical location of the server? Would the server be able to respond to our CNAME we provide for it? Would you be able to run a daily rsync command to sync the ISOs. We'll need about 5GB of space for the mirrors (we actually need less, but while we're in the process of updating ISOs it could balloon to 5GB) On Thu, Jan 8, 2015 at 7:06 PM, J. D. Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with the newer versions. ** Changed in: mythbuntu Status: New = Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992276 Title: Default Storage Groups should be in /srv/mythtv instead of /var/lib/mythtv To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/+bug/992276/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
