wireless card recommendation
Hello: I'm running ubuntustudio 11.04 on Dell GX260 desktop. Looking for wireless card recommendation and driver info. Not sure what software ubuntustudio uses for network detection. Is this a doable project to undertake? Any pointers appreciated. I have simple question, but dialog for network is confusing. I want to change IP 192.168.1.133 to IP 192.168.1.66. When I went looking for editing eth0, I got a bunch of Windows type dialogs, leaving me confused. What is simple command I can enter in terminal to do this. ubuntustudio 12 rocks!
Managed to install the latest ubuntustudio on my old Dell Optiplex GX260 desktop. I loaded imagination, pitivi, and software like ffmpeg, mencoder, etc. I then used imagination, Gimp to prepare photos for slideshow that then became video clip. Used guvcview to record webcam video clip. Then used pitivi to combine them to create video. Not one crash, nor even a glitch (well, user goofs). Remember the days when the public had to rely on PEG channel locations to make tv shows? Now, we can make our own shows, reformat to DVD, deliver to local access stations, and reach audiences that don't have access to Internet. Hopefully, my good luck with ubuntustudio will continue. It seems that within Ubuntu Studio is a wealth of potential for this group, and i would like to get a bit familiar with some key programs, learn some of the potential ways of interfacing the instruments and amps with the computer and programs, and getting enough knowledge to do an effective presentation and get them interested in pursuing a new tool for their arsenal.
