[Bug 1311236] Re: Magnifier in Ubuntu GNOME Trusty crashes completely

2014-04-30 Thread Ubuntu-Fan
Hello,

I already did some tests with different ATI cards, nVidia cards and
integrated graphics chips a few days ago. The problem appears on every
card and so it looks like it's unrelated to the drivers.

Think it's a problem in magnifier code it self. The magnifier works on
all tested cards in Saucy but not in Trusty. By deleting the configfiles
of GNOME3/GNOME-Shell you can fix the problem that the magnifier starts
again automatically. For me the driver reinstallation don't fixed the
problem but I just tested this on an ATI card not on nVidia and
integrated Intel.

Best Regards

Re: [Bug 996145] Re: Ubuntu 12.4 64 bits on Toshiba C665 (Nvidia Card) too bright

2012-05-21 Thread Ubuntu Fan
This is a new laptop and I only tried little on previous versions here is
what all I tried

*Tested on old versions
*Ubuntu 10.4 32 Bit (LIVE CD LIVE THUMBDRIVE)
Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit (HDD INSTALL)
Ubuntu 10.4 repackaged for CNS (LIVE THUMBDRIVE)

The issue for brightness buttons not working and brightness being too high
was there. the brightness is Ok in day light but in room the brightness
hurts and makes it difficult to see the keyboard once I look away from the
screen
*
VIDEO* *(as in Cinema)*
I think this is linked to the same issue The videos seem to be burnt out
(too much of saturation, contrast and a light red tint)
*
TTY SCREEN
*The TTY Screen also never had the correct aspect ratio of 1366x768 The
terminal is better

*UPSTREAM*
Haven't managed to test upstream.

Do you know if this issue happened in a previous version of Ubuntu, or
 is this a new issue?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.4kernel[1] (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once you've tested
the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag(Only
that one tag, please leave the other tags). This can be done by clicking
on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the
bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
 tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not
boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
 Confirmed.

 Thanks in advance.
