[Bug 1082110]

2024-06-20 Thread Vmiklos-y
b79b50c8f06a5c977451995b2d632e5738d7d335 adds tools -> options UI to
enable/disable this compat setting, so now you can have continuous
endnotes even for new documents created in Writer. Anything else to be
done before marking this bug as fixed?

[Bug 1989976]

2024-06-13 Thread Bugzilla-y
> The private part of the passkey should never leave the device it was
created on, so by design, it should not sync anywhere else.

That's an interesting statement. Sounds plausible at first. But when
that key is my entrance, how should I use my account from another
device? Will I have to create a new account? If PassKeys are meant to be
the primary authentication method, I'll still have to identify from the
new device somehow. I don't understand how that should work without
copying the key to other devices. Let alone non-technical people who are
already overwhelmed by PassKeys. They'll probably not use it like that.

[Bug 1945364]

2024-03-08 Thread Ppalka-y
We don't implement OPTIMIZATION_NODE and TARGET_OPTION_NODE streaming:

case OPTIMIZATION_NODE:
case TARGET_OPTION_NODE:
// FIXME: Our representation for these two nodes is a cache of
// the resulting set of options. Not a record of the options
// that got changed by a particular attribute or pragma. Should
// we record that, or should we record the diff from the command
// line options? The latter seems the right behaviour, but is
// (a) harder, and I guess could introduce strangeness if the
// importer has set some incompatible set of optimization flags?

[Bug 1838636] Re: SecTmpDir operation has undocumented restrictions

2024-02-28 Thread Y K
I recently encountered this error and while I haven't managed to resolve
it, I can shed a little more light on it and offer a simple workaround.
Switching off ModSecurity is the work around. This obviously removes a
layer of security so isn't an ideal solution. What I've ascertained is
that the temp files are actually created and written to. All files are
individually created and additionally a file named -request_body-
which contains the entire post including the cumulative size of all
uploaded files is also created. The error described above pertains to
this larger file, which suggests to me that ModSecurity has a parameter
which limits the size of file which can be read or transferred to
another location on the drive.

If anyone knows what this parameter may be, post it here so that others
who come across this rare but very real error, may have a potential
solution.

Yes, the version I try to run is 0.3.7 and apt says is the most recent
version in repositories (KDE Neon is based on Ubuntu repositories).

How could I get something newer?

2021-07-14 Thread Vmiklos-y
Did you try moving the ContinuousEndnotes opt-in from
writerfilter/source/filter/WriterFilter.cxx to
writerfilter/source/dmapper/DomainMapper.cxx?

The first is the place for docx-only compat flags, the second is the
place for docx+rtf compat flags.

[Bug 1054299]

2020-03-30 Thread 2-acc-von-y
So I wrote a patch for 4.14. [1] I have not tested it, as I don't know
how to start my xfce4-session. startxfce4 should maybe have some
configuration options to point it to another xfce4-session.

[1]:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-session/+bug/1054299/comments/65

Note: maybe the 2 second wait here can be removed now. I don't know, when this
lock_screen() function is called, though.

No Audio On Pine64 and Media Server

2019-12-26 Thread Glenn K 0 L N Y :)
Hi,
I downloaded the image:
xubuntu-xenial-mate-20170306-longsleep-sopine-8GB.img
and put it on a micro SD card and booted up, and I get no audio.
I can SSH into it when it is plugged into the router.
It has a headphone jack that I plugged a small powered speaker into, which
usually works for this, and I also plugged in an HDMI to VGA adapter which has
an audio jack on it, and sound comes out of neither place.
I have tried using:
espeak "hello"
and
speaker-test -c 2
and the speaker test runs fine, but sound comes out of neither place, and when
running eSpeak it gives some error about jack server cannot be located.
I looked in /etc and there is no .conf file for alsa.
But I ran apt install alsa-mixer and it told me that the one installed is the
latest package.

So since I don't really care if I can use it as such, I just want to be able to
transmit audio through my router for listening with other devices on my home
network.
Which is easier in the CLI to set up for this?
I'm thinking of CODI and VLC.
Thanks.

[Bug 1813471]

2019-09-16 Thread Y-benjamin
So it seems this has been in the code a LONG time. So if it is a
regression I haven't found it yet. I still find it odd that Firefox
doesn't suffer from the same issue given we share so much of the code
base.

Martin beat me to it.

Seems to be a cross platform problem, and I can confirm that it happens
when using -no-remote on Win10 and Pop_OS! 19.04 on TB 60.8

Could the issue really be in Firefox as it is the common denominator?

This seems to be the only reference to GTK_USE_PORTAL in Mozilla's code.
https://searchfox.org/comm-central/source/mozilla/toolkit/system/gnome/nsGIOService.cpp#35

I'm going to start a regression search, and looking around the Mozilla
code to see if there is something they set that we don't.

Will update at the end of the day.

[Bug 1813471]

2019-06-20 Thread Y-benjamin
I've tested 6.70.0, 6.70.1, 68.0b1, and the daily on Ubuntu 19.04, all
crash after all dialogs are closed and it seems (still needs a little
more testing) at least one email account is setup.

Whats odd is that unless you explicitly set GTK_USE_PORTAL = 1 in the
string to launch TB (i.e. 'GTK_USE_PORTAL=1 thunderbird') the bug is
not triggered.

It also happens regardless to the value you give GTK_USE_PORTAL as
'GTK_USE_PORTAL=0 thunderbird'

2019-01-31 Thread d a i s y
Okay thanks,

Here I found something new in Ubuntu 18.04.2,
I thought about to install kernel 4.15.0-43, login screen appeared but
resolution issue and not network adapter, neither ethernet nor wireless, so
just leave it

Then for kernel 4.15.0-45-generic, I've disabled wayland
During booting, ubuntu logo appeared (seems like when we set nomodeset), then
splash divided into two(ubuntu logo left and right side) and after a minute
login screen appeared,

but after login, just a wallpaper and nothing like it's freezing, same
issue.

Please check a log if you can find something new.

[Bug 1812359] Re: Cannot install Ubuntu 18.04 in Intel Atom D425 when an external monitor is connected

2019-01-30 Thread d a i s y
Note1: Atom D425 machine only has one screen and that screen is the VGA monitor.

For comment #23 and #24, after then I reinstalled Ubuntu as mentioned
here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1812359/comments/40

Now there is Ubuntu 19.04 installed,
I've done
   grep . /sys/class/drm/*/enabled

and attaching two files:

1. journalctl -b-1 > 19.04_boot1.txt
2. dpkg -l > dpkgl.txt

FYI, I've installed Ubuntu 18.04.2 and 19.04 in two different disk(so I
don't need to do re-installation every time, only one disk installed in
Atom D425 machine at a time ), so I can give any time you need any of
log.

For 19.04, I am working on it because I found some strange issue with
HDMI too after installing it.

Boot system connected with HDMI connected, first it shows only blank
purple magenta and after a minute, only blank black screen. Power off
the smart station, disconnected both HDMI, VGA, and boot the system and
after completion of booting, connect the HDMI, it shows login screen. I
will give you a log.

2019-01-29 Thread d a i s y
Okay,
First thing, Laptop is Dell and cpu architecture is Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU
T6670 @ 2.20GHz, I have used laptop just to install 18.04.2 and 'Try Ubuntu'
for 19.04

after then remove ssd from laptop and install it in smart station in
which this issue is occurred - CPU architecture for smart station
Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU D425 @ 1.80GHz

I've performed following steps:
1. Boot the system(smart station) when VGA connected (LG monitor which has both
HDMI and VGA),
2. Remove VGA and connect the HDMI
3. Login when HDMI connected and then remove HDMI and again connect VGA

2019-01-29 Thread d a i s y
@ Daniel van Vugt

Thanks, You're right. I'd just unplug the VGA, start the system and when
plug in, I could see the screen. Well, I'm using smart station so I've
to connect the external monitor(Dell) with VGA. It has HDMI port too, so
connect the monitor (LG) with HDMI and it is working except the screen
is not fitting.

Should I reinstall 18.04.1 with HDMI connected monitor and then connect
to VGA. Would it make any difference?

I will give an update for 19.04 once it is downloaded.

2019-01-28 Thread d a i s y
vanvugt,

Okay, I did normal boot, no login screen, could not entered into VT, so
with telnet, I did journalctl -b-1 > boot2.txt

I still request only if you haven't consider comment #29
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1812359/comments/29,
Please do. As I said, I've set nomodeset to install Ubuntu, without it I
could not.

2019-01-28 Thread d a i s y
vanvugt,

I downloaded the latest "daily" version of 18.04 from here:
http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/bionic/daily-live/current/bionic-desktop-
amd64.iso, check m5dsum, it's same.

Before installation, I try without installing option, and after ubuntu
logo, only blank default bionic wallpaper appear and nothing.

Previously Ubuntu installed because I've set nomodeset.

I did further more steps,

1. Remove gdm3 and gnome-shell, while removing gnome-shell it was
showing something 'polkit-1-auth-agent is not installed so not to
remove'

2. Install gnome-shell, gdm3, policykit-1-gnome, also ubuntu-gnome-
desktop and ubuntu-gnome-default-settings

3. Enable debugging gdm3 (/etc/gdm3/custom.conf file), Moved all files
from /var/crash, and reboot the system. No login screen but no files in
/var/crash

4. Reboot into recovery mode and run journalctl -b-1 > boot1.txt , file
is blank

Daniel van Vugt,

Before reporting this bug,

I'd already done fresh installation of bionic-desktop-amd64.iso :
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1812359/comments/3
as stated here.

All other steps lightdm, nomodeset, xorg.conf file I've done to solve the issue,
so now, undo all changes,
uninstall lightdm, remove nomodeset and xorg.conf file, changed
#WaylandEnable=false to WaylandEnable=false

Login screen did not appear so reboot and start in recovery mode.

[Bug 1743094] Re: [regression] hibernation (freezes on resume) since 4.13.0-25.29

2019-01-07 Thread Basil K Y
Please fix this bug soon. It affects many distributions based on Ubuntu
and there are no workarounds available for Ubuntu 18.04. I have attached
my system details. I couldn't find any relevant logs in syslog or pm
logs which leads to failure in hibernation.
