Hmm :-) Until 3 days ago I used intrepid on my Vaio FW21E, with the radeon driver, and it did not feel sluggish at all. Although I could not enable KDE's desktop effects, overall drawing performance seemed very good. In jaunty, X uses more CPU and painting is much slower, in comparison. Note that I do see Rescheduling Interrupts as well on my debian, but less often and less intensive. Isn't this a pointer to that it's however a kernel issue? In gutsy I did not see that many wakeups neither on my laptop, I do not remember having seen Rescheduling Interrupts at all in powertop... [Bug 67273] Eclipse fails to start
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: eclipse I upgraded from dapper to edgy early this week.
