[Bug 264102] [NEW] Interpid alpha - screen flickers during desktop loading

2008-09-02 Thread bayger
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 256142 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/256142

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

I am using the latest alpha of Interpid. The problem is that the screen
flickers a little when loading desktop and sometimes when doing other
disk intensive operations (i.e. loading an app). Flickering means rapid
jump of screen horizontally (moving a screen by let's say 200 pixel to
the right/left for one frame). It happens with and without Compiz.

[Bug 211232] [NEW] SPE crashes on the gtk.glade code in editor

2008-04-03 Thread bayger
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: spe

I am trying to write the following code using SPE (latest version
0.8.4.e for ubuntu repo):

#!/usr/bin/env python

import sys
try:
import pygtk
pygtk.require(2.0)
except:
pass
try:
import gtk
import gtk.glade
except:
sys.exit(1)

class GladeTester:

def __init(self):

If you add a dot (.) after gtk.glade SPE immediately quits. It seems
like silent crash.

[Bug 207021] Re: spe doesn't save positions of window splitters

2008-03-26 Thread bayger
@stani:
What do you think about moving bug tracking completely to the launchpad? This
is some kind of schizophrenic situation: one bug here, one bug there. I'm sure
you would be more happy if you had one place for all the bugs. This is only my
suggestion. Anyway, I posted feature request to the berlios as well.

Regards.

[Bug 207021] Re: spe doesn't save positions of window splitters

2008-03-26 Thread bayger
@stani:
Indeed, I think that moving everything to the launchpad may be a time consuming
operation. So you are probably right, this doesn't make sense for now. I posted
this bug here because I didn't know about berlios, and because you wanted me to
test the svn version in another bug (which I did). So I assumed that this is
the place for all reports. I was wrong... :)
Anyway, I want to help you with SPE, so I will post my reports to the berlios.
SPE is great editor/ide for me. I am a complete Python beginner, so probably I
wouldn't be useful as SPE developer/bug fixer (at least for now). Only bug
reports for now. :)

I am using the latest hardy beta. I think it is related to the Index tab
(sidebar). Repro is very easy:

1. Create empty file
2. Switch sidebar to the Index tab
3. Start typing some class, eg.:
class Hello:
  def __init__

Exception should be thrown.

[Bug 155109] Re: Erratic volume control behaviour with different USB audio devices

2008-03-17 Thread bayger
As someone noted above this bug is also present when using creative
xmod. It seems to be some kind of race condition, where maybe two pieces
of code try to change volume to the response of changing volume using
the knob or +/- on the keyboard. This is only my guess. Anyway, bug
still exists in Hardy. It is very annoying, because I must use mouse to
change the volume. Even changing the volume using mouse causes a lot of
problems (sometimes I must mute/unmute using the keyboard). So please,
try to investigate this before releasing next Ubuntu. I know that a lot
of people are using external usb audio devices. This is very important
for me. If you need any assistance in hunting this bug just drop me an
email. I'll try to help as best as I can.

Regards.

[Bug 202760] [NEW] xmod usb audio doesn't work

2008-03-16 Thread bayger
Public bug reported:

After upgrading 7.10 to 8.04 USB Audio Device stopped working. In my
case it is Creative Xmod, which worked fine in gutsy. Now asoundconf
list outputs nothing, but lsusb lists Creative device.

This is odd. I had to install manually linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-12-386
Now everything works fine.
