[Bug 666441] Re: Upgraded to ubuntu 10.10 - screen flickers

2011-04-25 Thread dross
I tried turning off Compiz, but that didn't help. This is very erratic
for me, the only pattern I can see is that if I leave the computer alone
for a minute or so, it will definitely flicker and go dimmer when I hit
a key or move the mouse, then maybe flicker again and regain it's usual
brightness. I just turned off Dim display when idle in System - Power
Management, and it made the screen flicker and go darker! Very weird. I
think I should consider using an older kernel, or maybe a development
kernel.

2011-04-23 Thread dross
This affects me too on an EeePC 1001P, running Ubuntu 10.10.
I notice that the screen changes brightness slightly after a flicker.

[Bug 289925] Re: Segmentation fault on amd64 in glutInitDisplayMode()

2010-03-15 Thread dross
Exact same situation as #15 here on my EeePC 1001P. Ubuntu 9.10,
OpenGL.__version__ ==  '3.0.0', Python 2.6.4. I'm not currently using
Glut for my own project, but all the python examples that use it are now
broken, including the GLContext tests.

I got the apport message while deciding how to partition my new Eee PC
1001P. I hope the install from USB stick goes ok! I'll take my chances I
guess.

[Bug 352797] [NEW] Suspend / resume failure with root programs open.

2009-03-31 Thread dross
Public bug reported:

I suspended the comp while Synaptic was installing a large group of
packages. When I resumed, it shut down. I had just switched to the
madwifi driver because I was having trouble keeping a connection to my
wireless router. The signal strength was fine, but I had to disconnect
and reconnect repeatedly to keep the packets flowing.

ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from
resuming properly. The resume processing hung very near the end and will have
appeared to have completed normally.
