[Bug 595094] Re: Inaudible sound on Asus EeeTop ET2203
I managed today to fix the problem with ALC 887 and Eee Top 2203T and sound. Jippi... I used the python Hda_analyzer.py to control the soundcard and suddenly the sound was there. The script can be found at http://www.alsa-project.org/hda-analyzer.py; Thanks for all help Regards Kjartan -- Inaudible sound on Asus EeeTop ET2203 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/595094 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 631885] Re: installed easycap driver, when testing with mplayer my soundcards disappeared
After reading a hole lot of articles about this problem I can conclude with the following: Problem occures when trying to implement OSS in any way. /dev/dsp is missing because of a not installed oss so I tried to install oss-compat package. Then ALSA installation was corrupted. Reinstalled Maverick I tried even to select OSS as audio system and install OSS packages but the same occured no sound... and when trying to select ALSA back it didnt work. Reinstalled Maverick Visited OSS' homepage and found out that the newest software version 2.6 were released in 2003... So I'm staying far away OSS until an oss-revolution occurs.
