[Bug 532984] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 Alpha 3 won't boot on HP Compaq Pentium 4; displays an irrelevant Glib warning on the console
Im having the same problem on an older P4 Sony Viao PCV-RS310. Burned DVD discs of 10.04 and10.10 give me this error. I tried burning a CD of 10.10 and I got into the install phase, partitioned the drive, and then during install it failed. [Bug 540957] [NEW] No Setup Signature Found
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub I am getting this error after selecting my language and run the liveCD in 10.04 Alpha 3. No setup signature found. I have a 9.10 fresh install and now trying to run a 10.04 alpha 3 disc (planning to do dual boot) and getting the error message when trying to install 10.04. I have found a couple of other bugs that list my exact error message but no resolution was discussed. Apparently, older grubs dont work well with newer grubs, causing the problem. Although in my situation, Im going from 9.10 to 10.04 Something many users might try doing, so I felt I would create a new bug report. ** Affects: grub (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- No Setup Signature Found https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/540957 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
