2012-02-13 Thread u-foka
Hy!

Commenting out session optional pam_mount.so from
/etc/pam.d/common-session-noninteractive
I don't understand why it's included there in the first place? Can anyone
explain? I can't found a reason in the changelog :(
Also if that's the real reason, the bug should reassigned to libpam-runtime.

Actually the size of the shadow sounds as a good starting point!

Maybe the best would be a configurable size for the hidden grab area :)
Currently it's difficult to change, how I seen the size is hardcoded
  into the theme right?

 But is this really necessary?

 Three options:
 - review feedback and pick a sensible default value
 - add a new option to ccsm
 - link the actual radius with some other element that makes sense, e.g. the
 shadow decoration.

KDE has a configurable border size somewhere in its theme options (option
#2). Gnome 2 used to link the radius with the theme border (option
#3). Windows and MacOS (Lion) don't have a configurable size, same as Unity
(option #1). I am not sure about Gnome Shell (but the default size seems to
 be slightly larger than Unity).

This is on of those cases where a sensible default, well, makes sense. A
size of 8px or 10px would be easier to hit than 5px, without impacting
usability negatively (i.e. it still falls within the visible shadow
decoration, where you are unlikely to click to raise a window). It should
be a relatively simple change with a negligible chance of regressions.

Re: [Bug 160311] Re: Resizing windows by grabbing window borders is difficult

2011-12-21 Thread u-foka
Hy!

I'm a little bit afraid of a larger resize area.. If I click 10px far
from a window, I probably want to raise the window below. 5-6px is ok,
but more is risky, especially because that area is invisible.

@stapostol; thanks for your response, I've marked the bug as also
affects unity2d. Re. the sizing of the dragable area, in WindowsXP the
dragable area is 5px (but it may well be larger in Windows 7). So yes
the size could be increased, but 5px also seems workable.

Indeed, WinXP had 5px draggable areas - but WinXP is 10 years old now and
it might not be the most suitable point of reference for modern design
topics. The draggable area was increased in Vista (same as Win7) and I
think I recall a msdn blog mentioning this was based on usability tests
(but it's been half a decade since then and my google-fu is letting me
down, so don't quote me on that).

In any case, the drag area is invisible in Unity, so a potential size
increase should be a relatively safe change.

   For those who
need * significantly* larger grabable areas for accessibility reasons,
another options is to use the love handles with a key combination, see
 http://linux-software-news-tutorials.blogspot.com/2011/06/activate-
 fantastic-grab-handles-in.html for details.

These are indeed fantastic, maybe they merit more attention than currently
given. (I love them on my laptop, but I cannot find a way to use them on my
 desktop).

Alienware m15x, 1900 * 1200. If I hit the grab area first time using
the touchpad it's a fluke. If I hit it with the trackball, it's only
with a degree of concentration. Same laptop, same trackball and
touchpad, Windows at the same rez - no problem.

Been complaining about this for getting one for 2 years and it

[Bug 805087] Re: Dash and launcher appear underneath windows

2011-10-14 Thread u-foka
If I understand the situation correctly, one bug that caused this
behavior was fixed, and yes before it happened to me all the time, but
now it's way better.

One thing is known to cause this if you close the document viewer
(evince) in full screen mode.

I mark this now as Confirmed, to make more attention, since the bug is
exactly the same, just has more triggers.

Anyway, if the devs think we should open a new report, please tell us,
but it's a known problem for a long time, and no one told us to open a
separate bug for this.

Thanks!

[Bug 851337] Re: window decorations missing after expo

2011-09-16 Thread u-foka
Hy!

Here is a video of the problem. What's happening is:
- Click on the workspace switcher icon
- Right click on the second workspace
- The decorations missing until I move one window
- Click on the workspace switcher icon
- Right click on the first workspace
- The decorations missing again

Also I found out that this happens only when I actually land on a
different workspace where I started the switcher.

2011-09-13 Thread u-foka
Hy!

I experienced similar crashes mainly when using ctrl+alt+arrows, but
sometimes with expo too, but yesterday I disabled texture compression in
ccsm, and since there were no crash if I remember correctly!

I have a Lenovo T61 with an 1440x900 panel and Intel Corporation Mobile
GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller

Do you guys have texture compression enabled?

[Bug 847043] [NEW] compiz freezes when git-cola started

2011-09-11 Thread u-foka
Public bug reported:

Hy!

When I try to start git-cola the screen freezes, and become unresponsive
until I hit Alt+F4. Seems like compiz fails to display it, and freezes
the screen until I close the window.

Tryed the workaround from Bug #807487 (changed qt theme) but this still
happens.

I tryed to run compiz in a terminal, and it constantly displays the following
message while the git-cola window is open:

2011-09-08 Thread u-foka
Hy!

I can understand the opinion of the gnome developers (even if I can't
agree with them) but as they removed the gconf keys too, that's insane
:(

The best way maybe would be to provide a simple gui for simple users
with an advenced button in the corner (only one more item, that will
never be pushed by someone who hates options) what is usefull for the
users who love options..

[Bug 793042] [NEW] greater changed to ellipsis in hungarian layout

2011-06-05 Thread u-foka
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xkeyboard-config

Hy!

Since I upgraded to natty, the greater symbol changed to the ellipsis
symbol on the period key, what I consider as a bug as I and many others
I know use that key the old way..

There are less / greater keys on Hungarian layout also on í and y
keys but these located far from each other on many stupid laptop
keyboards (the í key often moved to the right side of the keyboard) so
it's more comfortable to use the other two (m and .)

So please roll back this change!

2011-06-04 Thread u-foka
Hy!

I can reproduce the bug on any of the files in that folder, and can't when I
copy any of the files to a separate folder.
Also I made little script to populate a folder with 1 txt files, and I can
reproduce the bug in that folder (but I have to be faster than with the
wallpaper folder, I think the thumbs make nautilus even slower).

The images are uploading to a server right now, and will be accessible
at http://eisenberger.hu/~u-foka/wallpaper.tar (but note that I don't
own the right for most of those images)

[Bug 789624] [NEW] nautilus can't open files until its statusbar updated

2011-05-28 Thread u-foka
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Hy!

I have a lot of wallpapers (mostly JPG) in a single directory (Nautilus
says: 1,193 items, totalling 1.7 GB) when I try to open one of them, it
mostly succeeds only second time (by double clicking). But when I click
on the image first, and then double click, it always opens... It never
happens on smaller dirs. I also noticed that when the file won't open, I
can see the status bar was updated after I finished the double click,
and suspec that this is related to the problem...

[Bug 764536] Re: bluetooth doesn't work after suspend / resume on dell vostro 1310

2011-05-04 Thread u-foka
Hy!

There are two seems different problems with the current release kernel:
1: when I suspend with bt enabled, then bt icon is useless after resume (but
hcitool seems to work, this was fixed by your kernel)
2: when I suspend with bt DISABLED, then bt icon is useless after resume the
bluetooth chip is disabled so not even hcitool works, because I can't enable bt
with the icon.

The second problem exists with the release and the patched kernel too,
but I didn't found the difference before I tested with the patched
kernel.

Also when I discovered the second problem, I checked if the Lenovo s10-2
has the same problem (I did that for the first before it was reported,
but it was ok) and this second problem exists on that machine too.

So it seems that the second problem, while seems simlar, not related to
the first at all. (At least from the users pov :)

2011-05-03 Thread u-foka
Hy!

This kernel solved the problem!

But I discovered an other: When I suspend with bluetooth of (from the bt menu)
when I resume, I can't enable bluetooth until I restart the bluetooth service.
This also happens on my GF's Lenovo S10-2 with the original natty kernel.
Should I report this separately?

Thanks for the fix!

[Bug 774838] [NEW] Indicator menus sometimes won't open first time

2011-05-01 Thread u-foka
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-applet

Hy!

On my up2date natty with unity, when I click on any indicator
icons/menus sometimes the icon/menuitem get's the highlight like when
it's open, but the menu refuses to open... then the indicator does not
respond to any following click to remove the open status and try to open
again. The only solution seems to resolve this is to click on an other
indocaor, then it opens and removes the open status from the first one,
and after that, the first one can be opened correctly.

This mostly happens when an application is maximized.

2011-04-18 Thread u-foka
I was tryed to produce the hci.log apport suggested, and discovered two things:
After resume, hcidump tells me that device: disconnected, and appearently the
device itself works, or at least hcitool scan lists nearby devices. So the
problem should be with the gui.

[Bug 670592] Re: compiz crashes when screensaver activates

2010-12-18 Thread u-foka
I can't see the point why I need ssh, I can run gdb in screen, or tty1
and get the backtrace when it crashes... but how I can install the
needed debug symbols? There is no dbg package for compiz :(
