Meu véio, não é pra editar o que está dentro do start e do end DEBIAN
AUTOMAGIC KERNELS LIST. Isso é gerado tomaticamente a partir dos
kernels que vc tem instalado no seu ubuntu. Depois do seu end tem só
um windows. Põe o mandriva lá. Não sei se é isso que tá dando galho,
mas me pareceu um equívoco.
Outra coisa: esse kernel e initrd tem que referenciar arquivos que
existam no mandriva. Vê lá na partição dele, se eles existem mesmo.
Aliás, uma dica, é olhar em /boot/grub/menu.lst do próprio mandriva e
copiar o trecho para o final do menu.lst do ubuntu.
Deveria haver uma ferramenta gráfica para isso. Tudo bem que a gente
acaba aprendendo, mas se muda alguma coisa, ficamos perdidos. É um
saco. Além disso, uma GUI te dá as opções e é só escolher. É menos
propenso a erros.
