[Bug 62338] Bad translation of translator-credits
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: language-pack-fr The upstream string translator-credits have been superseeded by "Equipe français de traduction d'Ubuntu" in some packages. [Bug 46314] Re: after recent update 3d acceleration with savage does not work
I can confirm this on my system, using an S3 Inc. 86C380 [ProSavageDDR K4M266] (rev 02), which according to Xorg.0.log is a "Twister PN133", Chip: id 8d01. After asking at the xorg mailing list, they directed me to the bug Marcelo Shima was pointing out on his last comment. I can also run glxinfo, but executing glxgears results in a black window and 100% CPU usage. So basically, it seems that the DRI locking was broken in the driver, and that that has now been fixed upstream using the following patch: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=7041 (see the bug report for more information) ** Also affects: linux-source-2.6.17 (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- after recent update 3d acceleration with savage does not work https://launchpad.net/bugs/46314 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 47542] Re: Fast scrolling causes X hang
I don't think so. The problem you described is rather related to video memory timing. It look like as if an extra wait state were needed when the system is accessing video memory directly, where in fact it's accessing part of system RAM assigned to video. Perhaps it could be fixed in BIOS (something like AGP write 0 WS, AGP fast writes, etc. - disable it). You may also try NVIDIA binary driver and see if it behaves in a different way. -- Fast scrolling causes X hang https://launchpad.net/bugs/47542 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 60762] Re: can't use 1024x768 with savage driver in edgy (vrefresh out of range)
I can sort of confirm this bug. I have got an S3 Inc. 86C380 [ProSavageDDR K4M266] (rev 02), which according to Xorg.0.log is a "Twister PN133", Chip: id 8d01. On a Dapper install, the savage driver was not used, but the vesa driver was used instead. Now, with the upgrade to xorg 7.1.1 in edgy, the slowness of vesa became unbearable, so I started using the savage driver -which, BTWis also not loaded for my laptop when using Knot3, still vesa is used. Now when I started using the savage driver, the maximum resolution I could use was 800x600, which on a 1024x768 laptop screen is not the best, I have to say. All 1024x768 modes in Xorg.o.log were dropped because of them being out of range I got the driver to work at a 1024x768 resolution by explicitly specifying hsync and vrefresh in xorg.conf: VertRefresh 55-61 HorizSync31.5-80 What are your hsync and vrefresh ranges? [Bug 62321] Re: FAT32 partition on flash drive/USB keyfob gets automounted in case-sensitive mode
I probably didn't explain myself very well and/or didn't put the emphasis right here: Having figured things out as far as this, I don't see the "utf8 is not a recommended" part of the error message as central or even as much of an issue. Yes, I do think it's not nice to have error message thrown if there isn't an error, but for sure that's significantly less important than the substantive issue I filed this bug about. The main issue here is that the FAT32 partition gets mounted case- sensitively instead of case-insensitively. I don't actually understand at all why this error message would thow the utf8 part together with case-sensitivity, but anyway: I think the mounting of FAT32 partitions as case-sensitive would be worth addressing. -- FAT32 partition on flash drive/USB keyfob gets automounted in case-sensitive mode https://launchpad.net/bugs/62321 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 62325] After 20 minute warning, battery status erroneously drops to 0%
Public bug reported: The battery discharges normally, until I get the notification of "20 minutes of battery life remaining". After OK'ing it, the battery seems to immediately discharge to almost 0%, according to gnome power manager. I almost immediately get the 10 minute, and then the critical warning. If I simply don't shut down, but keep working, it clearly shows that the power manager's report on the battery is wrong, and it discharges linearly instead of emptying itself in the end. See attached screenshot. Urgency: really annoying when you don't really know how much juice you got in your battery, and you really can't command GPM to hibernate or shutdown on battery critical. Not fatal, though, I guess. Might also be an ACPI bug. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- After 20 minute warning, battery status erroneously drops to 0% https://launchpad.net/bugs/62325 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
