[Bug 67905] Thunderbird New Card panel has no Cancel or OK buttons
Public bug reported: In Thunderbird 1.5.0.7 installed in Ubuntu 6.06 the New Card panel brought up by the New Card buttons has no Cancel or OK buttons at the bottom, making it impossible to make any additions to any Thunderbird Address Book. Existing Cards DO have Cancel and OK buttons, but those cards are the result of an import via floppy from an earlier version of Thunderbird running in Windows XP. Is this a bug, either in Thunderbird or Ubuntu, or a bug only in Ubuntu's version of Thunderbird? Or something else? New info: I have discovered a thin red horizontal line in the New Card panel, just above the GUI bottom panel. If I'm very careful with the cursor, this red line appears and functions as the OK button. Not fun, but gets me out of the bind! [Bug 67907] Synchronisation with GPS disabled
Public bug reported: Hi, when I try to use my NMEA-compatible GPS-Receiver with the ntp-server shipped with Ubuntu Dapper, I get the error message, that clock type 20 is not supported. I have something like this in my ntp.conf: server 127.127.20.0 This should poll the /dev/gps0 device with 4800 bit/s 8N1. Interesting enough, clock type 20 is explained in depth in the ntp manual in the ntp-doc package. When I use the same ntp.conf with a self-compiled version of ntp, it works. It seems that the package manager deliberately removed the support for this clock type. Any reason why? Shouldn't this clock type be enabled? Thanks! Bonjour (Hi), this bug (which seems to be the same of #66118) affect the comps of our association since the last upgrade to KDE 3.5.5. [Bug 66034] Re: Cannot run gdmsetup
The problem here is Ubuntu devs are keen on starting GDM as soon as possible, to give the user the illusion of a faster bootup (just like Windows, I might add), while things keep loading in the background. Evidently there's a balance to be struck and we got caught in the ugly side of it. It's a complicated thing to juggle all those initscripts and getting a setup that'll work on most/all configs. It's quite possible further optimizations can be made, but I'm not really sure what to touch anymore. Moving GDM after all the S20 stuff was easy and (probably) harmless, same with cupsys and foomatic/hplip (unless you do need cups active _before_ gdm, of course), but what about DBUS? HAL? Who knows? Not me, certainly.
