[Bug 50430] Re: nis client seems to not start at boot
I *think* I'm having the same problem. For some reason my network card is slow at coming up. Because of that, "/etc/init.d/nis start" gets run before the network is up. Then ypbind gives up with "localhost ypbind: Host name lookup failure", and I have to start it manually after boot :-(. -- nis client seems to not start at boot https://launchpad.net/bugs/50430 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 82612] Re: Updating krecipes, which to my knowledge does not effect Firefox, and Firefox went out.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, we are not able to fix and find the bug because your description of the bug didn't have enough information in it. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively", http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. Debugging procedures for certain types of problems can be found at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures ; Information about reporting problems on firefox can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs (It will be great if you attach the backtrace following the instructions on that page, and if possible describe all the steps you followed previous to the crash). Sorry for forgetting to add the upstream bugid. As hggdh's ssldump shows, Evolution uses weak ciphers by it's own choice. Is this really a bug or i it just that the list of known devices in /etc/udev/rules.d/45-libgphoto2.rules is incomplete. I have a Canon Powershot A640 and got the same error. What I did was this: $ lsusb Bus 004 Device 031: ID 04a9:3139 Canon, Inc. Then added the following line to /etc/udev/rules.d/45-libgphoto2.rules SYSFS{idVendor}=="04a9", SYSFS{idProduct}=="3139", MODE="0660", GROUP="plugdev" And everything works as a charm. [Bug 77460] Re: "Translate This Application" in Firefox mistaken for translating the Web page
Daniel, that's because you're thinking like a developer. ;-) "Report Broken Web Site…" applies to the Web page you're on. "Report Web Forgery…" applies to the Web page you're on. So it's quite understandable that the launchpad-integration items between them will apply to the Web page you're on ... but then they don't. You could improve this a little bit by fixing the position of the menu items. But still, the idea of contributing to the choice of words of the buttons and menus (!) in a program you're already using (!!) is so unusual that I don't think you can explain it in a menu item. One way to improve this would be to replace the existing launchpad- integration items with a "Feedback and Contributions…" item, which can more thoroughly describe the various ways you can help contribute to the software. -- "Translate This Application" in Firefox mistaken for translating the Web page https://launchpad.net/bugs/77460 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Luckily (ur unfortunately, since I couldn't reproduce it anymore) I've had this happening only once - but after reading myself into the gconf- structure of the gnome-panel, I saw that there's an incredible mess in the panel configuration itself: I've played around with those neat panel-drawers before my objects disappeared. It seems that panels leave a lot of orphaned entries in the gconf when adding/filling/removing them.
