[Bug 86217] tv tuner card with saa7134 not detected automatically

2007-02-19 Thread Renjoy
Public bug reported:

Mercury TV tuner card with SAA7134 chip is not detected automatically.

The website for the product follows:
http://www.mercury-pc.com/product-detail.php?link=p-addcardssubtitle=Add-On%20Cardsproductid=97

The module saa7134 is loaded with the card and tuner paramters to be the
default.

As per page http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_saa7134 it says to modprobe
saa7134 with card=2 and tuner=3, and it works.

But it is not detected automatically.

[Bug 86219] deb-src not updated properly when server is changed

When I change the server (for example from Main to Germany), then

I've installed CSWcups and see my printer in evince's printers list.
But when i choose it, evince killed.

[Bug 85557] Re: AIXGL ATI Mobility Radeon X700 freezes with glxgears, glxinfo reports no rendering, radeon driver used

2007-02-19 Thread Timo Jyrinki
The support is not really experimental anymore, it works quite fine with
most Radeon 9500 - X800 cards (not the top performance of course, but
otherwise). The experimental-tag was recently removed from the
development version, as it was basically forgotten there even though
most important bugs have been fixed.

My guess would be that the fglrx still wasn't removed properly -
installing fglrx breaks the open source 3D acceleration completely, but
that dpkg-divert should tell you perhaps something. Try also
reinstalling the package libgl1-mesa-glx.

As a last resort, you could try running
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/feisty/herd-4/ live cd, 3D should
work out-of-the-box, though probably you are still going to hit the
auto-detection problem of mobility x700, ie. that you have to specify
radeon driver... possibly going to be fixed soon in daily images.

15 MB seems to work fine, i'll remember that for next time :@

@hjmf: thanks Einstein... How did you think I submitted the first part? It
keeps on loading for ages (logically, uploading 30 MB over an ADSL-line takes
forever), and then it gives me the page with the form still filled in but with
'Done' in the status bar.
I splitted it up again in parts of 15 MB, if that fails you'll get an FTP link.

[Bug 83419] Re: bluetooth not working on X72IA6 laptop

2007-02-19 Thread Onkar Shinde
From lspci output it looks like this machine doesn't have anything
related to bluetooth. But I will wait for you to confirm this by using
Windows live CD (I don't know what that means as I never heard about
it).

Regarding loading of kernel modules. In my opinion this might no be a
bug as if you want to use bluetooth dongle (USB adapter), which is the
case with most of the bluetooth users, then it should work out of box.
But I am neither a kernel developer nor any Ubuntu developer. So my
reasoning might not be correct.
