[Bug 89152] texlive-formats-extra fails to install: fmtutil: no info for format mltex

2007-03-01 Thread Boris Dušek
Public bug reported:

Hello,

This happens on Edgy. I had tetex installed, but then decided to switch
to texlive, so I installed texlive-full (and the installer told me that
tetex will be removed, so I think there shouldn't be any conflict
between tetex and texlive).

But three packages from texlive-full failed to install:

texlive-lang-polish (no format for `utf8mex')

I confirm this bug too.
Evan could you answer for :
"One thing that comes to mind : os-prober finds ROOT partitions (looking for
kernels I guess), but user accounts are in their respective, DIFFERENT
partitions. Does migration-assistant handles this ?"
Because i suspect that too.
When i look at ma-script-utils i found :
"we test the bootloader type for 'linux." is it relevant for a /home partition ?

[Bug 89149] Returning from hibernate doesn't start the INTERFACES (network).

2007-03-01 Thread Peter Antoniac
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi-support

Well, the problem is that the script: /etc/acpi/resume.d/62-ifup.sh that is
supposed to start the interfaces, doesn't get the $INTEFACES variable.
The script should look like this:
#!/bin/sh
# Bring up the interfaces (this should probably be left up to some policy
# manager, but at the moment we just bring back whatever we ifdowned)
# Find the currently running network interfaces...
INTERFACES=`/sbin/ifconfig | awk '/^[^ ]+/ {print $1}'`
# And bring them up
for x in $INTERFACES; do
ifup $x &
done

Lots of tabs open, usually switching between them when firefox dies.
Not sure what exactly is killing it.

[Bug 89141] fn f4 key no longer generates suspend with feisty on thinkpad t60

2007-03-01 Thread iamhimay
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi-support

Install feisty herd 4 on thinkpad t60. Suspend to ram works via fn f4
key combo or by suspending from gnome-power-manager applet. Keep up with
updates until March 1st. Fn f4 key combo no longer suspends the machine.
Gnome power-manager battery applet suspend still works fine. for fn f4
key press /var/log/acpid reports the event as such:

[Fri Mar 2 01:15:11 2007] received event "ibm/hotkey HKEY 0080 1004"
[Fri Mar 2 01:15:11 2007] notifying client 10507[0:0]
[Fri Mar 2 01:15:11 2007] notifying client 4957[107:112]

[Fri Mar 2 01:15:11 2007] completed event "ibm/hotkey HKEY 0080 1004"

Could this be a gnome-power-manager problem? i.e.; not getting/accepting the

[Bug 89140] File association settings are not found under System Settings

2007-03-01 Thread Hirvinen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kde-systemsettings

The problem:
File association settings are not found under System Settings -> KDE Components
as they are in Control Center -> KDE Components.
This is bad because:
1) These settings do not affect Konqueror only. (The settings are now found
only there on a default Kubuntu installation.)
2) Kubuntu now doesn't install Control Center by default, but System Settings
instead.
3) The current situation of these settings being accessible only under is
clearly not intuitive enough, as instructions for changing file associations
under Kubuntu have been asked several times during the last month on Kubuntu
and Ubuntu IRC channels.
4) System Settings is a natural place for a user to look for settings that
affect behavior of several programs.

Proposed solutions:
1) Add File associations under System Settings -> KDE Components
OR
2) reinstate Control Center as the default program for managing system wide
settings under Kubuntu
OR
3) Install both kde-systemsettings and kcontrol as a dependency of
kubuntu-desktop.

2007-03-01 Thread Patrice Vetsel
Have you tried the link proposed ?

It's seems that this is specifically this link that's not working. I'v tried
other sites offering extensions and firefox worked as expected.
I'v desinstalled totem-mozilla/flash, created new user, deleted and created new
one. Nothing change this problem.

Your email was very timely. I have not had any problems until a few
weeks ago. With the kernel update 2.6.17-11, the wireless stopped
working. So I was selecting 2.6.17-10 on boot to get it to work.

The email just reminded me of the earlier problem. So I just now
blacklisted prism2_plx in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist. Now the wireless
works with 1.6.17-11.

I originally just saw the problem with the live CD. But I removed and
reloaded kernel modules before I installed edgy to the hard drive.
Then everything worked until 2.6.17-11.

I have an old Orinoco gold card plugged into a PCI bus adapter. This
seems to be very happy with the orinoco_plx module.

already seems to do dynamic device number selection.

[Bug 89133] Problem with blktap and LVM (device numbers)

2007-03-01 Thread Lukas Fittl
Public bug reported:

If the Xen in Feisty is used together with LVM, it fails because LVM
starts before xend starts, and assigns 254 as a major device number.
Then xend comes along and has a hardcoded major device number of 254
which of course clashes with the one of LVM, which then leads to xend
not being able to start.

The problem would be fixed by the following patch which has also been
applied xen upstream: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-
devel/2006-09/msg00867.html

Please consider integrating this patch for Feisty as Xen won't work
without it.

Reproduceable on an AMD64 machine, not tested on i386.

2007-03-01 Thread Paul Dufresne
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kde-systemsettings

At first mountconfig was mixing my Burner device and floppy device.
Now it is mixing my Burner (hdc) with /proc.
When mixing with floppy, it was aware that the name of device was hdc.

I'll attached my fstab, and a screenshot.

[Bug 88370] Re: [apport] mono crashed with SIGSEGV

2007-03-01 Thread dBera
Can you do this from a terminal

$ export BEAGLE_MONO_DEBUG_FLAG_IS_SET=1
$ beagled --replace --fg

If beagle crashes within 5-10 minutes, paste the terminal output (last
100 lines or so) and attach it to a bug. If it doesnt, from another
terminal do "beagle-shutdown" which will stop beagle. Then you can run
it the way you normally run it.
