[Bug 94304] Dial-up modem in Network-Admin not functional in Feisty
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools Running Feisty i386 (March 19 build) live. The Dial-up modem configuration in System->Administration->Network still does not work. I say "still" because this is a problem in the Edgy I have installed and it was recognized as a bug to be fixed in the next edition. But apparently it is still in Feisty. The modem is not enabled, it does not connect and instead it resets the network connection. Except for the box to enable modem, there is nothing for trying to activate the modem. Adding the modem applet does not help. Also, after closing and reopening, all the Properties are still there except that Tone is changed back to Pulse (as was the case in Edgy). This is not a modem issue. [Bug 92014] Re: Feisty partitioner sees EIDE drives as SCSI's
I have had this problem with nearly every feisty install I have done -- most recently the daily build from 3-19... A few times this has not been the case, but I can't find a pattern. This does not seem to cause any problems, but if I can help fix this, let me know. -- Feisty partitioner sees EIDE drives as SCSI's https://launchpad.net/bugs/92014 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 84977] Re: Can't blacklist modules
Actually, lately on Feisty, I have been able to blacklist modules using entries in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist so, I think this has been fixed. Re: [Bug 77369] Re: zip drive fails to mount
That doesn't make sense. Other distros that I routinely install, like SUSE 10, detect the zip drive without any problem. (And its the exact same computer - I'm using a computer that has a swappable hard drive, and I'm always switching between hard drives with different OS's installed on them.) Because other OS's, including Windows and other Linux distros, detect and use the zip drive fine, I know the zip drive is seated properly on the motherboard. Are you saying I need to have a zip disk in the zip drive during installation? [Bug 93775] Re: feisty installer fails (stops)
Brian, bugs in the alternate installer do not belong on ubiquity, and it won't help to use the ubiquity bug page to ask for information about them. It looks like pkgsel is hanging on running 'apt-get update' - maybe trying to fetch files from the network? Perhaps we should arrange to time that out somehow, or avoid it altogether if possible. ** Changed in: pkgsel (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: ubiquity => pkgsel Assignee: Brian Murray => (unassigned) Status: Needs Info => Confirmed -- feisty installer fails (stops) https://launchpad.net/bugs/93775 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
