[Bug 95360] evolution can't print correctly previous and next months in the upper corners
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I have already written to gnome bugs, but maybe this is ubuntu font bug, not source problem. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409546 There's six weeks for example in December 2007 (joulukuu in Finnish) Evolution prints correctly only months which have five weeks. There's no extra space for the sixth week. (December 31th 2007) (file1) I don't know why but in month view evolution prints December correctly. (file2) There's also too short space for Month names. In Finnish, November (marraskuu) has 9 letters. And now it's too long word and goes out of margins. (file 3) And too short space for the day names, MoTuWe.. Ben committed the patch to the Ubuntu kernel git tree, but I don't think the packages have been rebuilt as of yet. [Bug 49567] Re: list view doesn't expand subfolder when clicking on arrow if entry is selected
I can confirm this bug on the Feisty beta. It doesn't work most of the time, but sometimes it does. This only happens in list view (in either browser or spatial mode) but not in other trees (like the one in the browser view side pane). One way of reliably triggering it is to select a subdirectory, and slowly slide your mouse towards the extender from the right until it highlights. The extender is now unresponsive to clicks, indicating a mismatch between the region where it highlights itself and where it responds to clicks. However, very often it fails to respond even when clicked squarely on the arrow. Usually it'll start responding again after a lot of retries and moving the mouse around. All this is seen only on selected entries. Other entries work perfectly every time. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed => Confirmed -- list view doesn't expand subfolder when clicking on arrow if entry is selected https://launchpad.net/bugs/49567 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 95357] georgewilliams "Monospace" font takes over the fontconfig/pango monospace virtual font
Public bug reported: Georgewilliams has a font named "Monospace." This overrides the monospace virtual font that is used in a number of places in the desktop, including in gnome-terminal, gedit, and firefox. Worse, the georgewilliams monospace font is somewhat ugly (it doesn't seem to work well with subpixel font rendering, leaving very colorful boundaries and hard-to-read text). Is it possible to rename the font so that this doesn't happen? I'd like to have the ttf-georgewilliams fonts installed, but I don't want to have to change all the font settings in my apps to use DejaVu Sans Mono or Bitstream Vera Sans Mono. ** Affects: gw-fonts-ttf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Affects: gw-fonts-ttf (Debian) Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #395487 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=395487 ** Also affects: gw-fonts-ttf (Debian) via http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=395487 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- georgewilliams "Monospace" font takes over the fontconfig/pango monospace virtual font https://launchpad.net/bugs/95357 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 38886] Re: File size limit exceeded - smbfs (unable upload larger file than 2GB)
The "samba/cifs" protocol has a part that is dedicated to negociate if large files are supported or not. The only thing is that the samba mount command will report itself has "not supporting large files" unless the "lfs" flag is used. I must admit at some point I have been thinking of reversing the logic in the code and have large file support "on" by default (at least on the client side, the resolution will still occur, so if the server does not support it then there are no problems). However, the best solution would be to check if there is a flag somewhere in the kernel indicating that large file support is currently activated. I will try to have a look. But, still, does anyone knows if this would cause problems? (I must admit I am still wondering why this "lfs" flag was used. There could be some reasons that we are unaware of...) -- File size limit exceeded - smbfs (unable upload larger file than 2GB) https://launchpad.net/bugs/38886 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 95355] Tooltips partially obscured when using larger mouse cursors
Public bug reported: I have my mouse cursors set to a larger size, and that works great, but the tooltips in most programs tend to pop up behind the cursor, obscuring the first word. And you can't move your mouse to read it -- the tooltip will disappear. [Bug 95040] Re: /dev/sdb3 failing to load with linux-image-2.6.20-12
Ok, done as requested and added the txt files you requested. I believe it is a JMicron SATA controller built onboard the ASRock 939 SATA Dual motherboard I have. The problem was fixed cause I had a similar issue earlier in the testing stage but it has reared it' s head with the latest initramfs and kernel updates. I also find it annoying that alsa firmware has not been added to Ubuntu installations as a default so for something like the Echo Gina3G card, I have to manually build the firmware and then place it in the appropriate location. I downloaded the latest installation/live disk being the 7.04 beta that has just been loaded and although it boots into a desktop, still no sound and it also totally ignores my WD Raptor drive which is on the SATA2 controller of my motherboard. ** Attachment added: "dmesg" http://librarian.launchpad.net/6917458/dmesg.txt -- /dev/sdb3 failing to load with linux-image-2.6.20-12 https://launchpad.net/bugs/95040 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
