[Bug 120130] Report Needed

2007-06-13 Thread Hilario J. Montoliu \(hjmf\)
Thank you PedroRolo for submitting this report.

Could you please try to obtain a backtrace by following the instructions
on [1], or upload the crash report that probably was generated during
the crash and that should be located at /var/crash/ to [2].

Please indicate which extensions/plugins do you have enabled; and if
this crash is reproducible describe the steps that lead to it (it is
very important for us to have a test case for each crash).

This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 119831] Re: Installing custom ppd dosen't work

2007-06-13 Thread tuharsky
xerox_230.ppd: PASS
WARNDefaultResolution has no corresponding options!
WARNObsolete PPD version 4,0!
REF: Page 42, section 5.2.

By the way, the printer WORKS with the PPD, just the model dosen't appear in
the supported models list during new printer installation.
The printer however appears in the list of active printers, and the driver
cited is the closest one from the CUPS-supported drivers. I don't know, whether
THAT driver is used, or the custom PPD.

[Bug 117911] Re: feisty - qcad , I can not insert raster image, elements from libraries and blocks, when I try to do that everuthing seems work but no visible elements after inserting

2007-06-13 Thread Faro
I have the same problem.

I try to insert a block from library, and the image is invisible.

In debian sid distribution (same version), this works perfectly, so I
suspect is a kubuntu package problem.

Thanks.

2007-06-13 Thread Ming Hua
Thanks for reporting.

However, openoffice.org2-amd64 is a package created specificly for amd64
architecture, and no longer exists in the most recent releases (doesn't
exists in 7.04 feisty, for example). Also, there was never a 2.2
version of openoffice.org2-amd64.

Which architecture are you using, i386 or amd64? Which release of
Ubuntu are you using, 7.04? What is the exact version of your
openoffice.org?

[Bug 120159] matplotlib svg displays incorrectly

2007-06-13 Thread izak
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: inkscape

Ok, I've a very strange Inkscape behaviour (newest build for dapper
Ubuntu 6.06), so I'm going to describe it in some detail:

I've created a graph in python using matplotlib and saved it as an svg.
However, when I open it in inkscape only the axes of the graph are
displayed and not the data. Both the axes and the data points should be
black. However, when I ungroup everything, I can see the bounding boxes
of the data points, but I can't see the ellipses that make up of the
data points (it's as if they have no fill). I can select one, try to
fill it, shift it to the front, make sure the opacity is set, but it
remains stubbornly invisible. If I select one it says e.g. Ellipse 26
on the status bar, but it has no visible nodes when I try to edit it
with the node tool.

Now here's the weird part: If I open the same file with the windows
version of Inkscape, everything is visible as it should be. Also if I
export the file to EPS (using Ubuntu inkscape) the graph data points
become visible again.

Re: [Bug 118605] Re: Feisty freezes upon Logout or Switch user

2007-06-13 Thread Matej Vitasek
I have a ATI Radeon 9600, more specifically:
pci.product: RV350 AR [Radeon 9600]
pci.subsys_product: Sapphire Radeon 9600XT
...based on Device Manager info.

Driver: I am using the Restricted driver, enabled in Restricted
drivers manager.

Kernel: due to the problems with -16 kernel, I am using the -15
version at the moment.

Some time ago I ran also the Ubuntu Hardware Database, but something
failed. My subscription ID is ed63ead2ead8903609e6a17361e1cc5f,
however http://hwdb.ubuntu.com/ reports some kind of error. Now I
cannot re-run the detection [and possibly attempt to upload data
again], all the UHD allows is viewing the ID.

If you need more info, please ask.

[Bug 119055] Re: mythbuntu crashes on first installation

2007-06-13 Thread spoky99
following the instructions that give me Mario Limonciello in irc channel I
sucessfull installed the mythbuntu in vmware
before start the installation into one text terminal I reinstall the ubiquity.
(sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubiquity
ubiquity-frontend-gtk)
and the installation goes well

I also tryed to reinstall mythbuntu in my desktop but using the CD reader
instead of the DVD reader (I change it) and the installation goes well
I don't know if this is a problem of mine DVD reader (benq model 1650V) or the
problem is for all the DVD reader.
I hope this help someone!

[Bug 95848] Re: Problem migrating from Fedora/LVM to Ubuntu

2007-06-13 Thread Áron Sisak
Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have the
possibility of being implemented if you submit a specification for it.
First check whether the idea is already registered
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+specs, and if so, contact the
specification's drafter about your ideas. Otherwise, you can start
writing a spec yourself. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureSpecifications

[Bug 106612] Re: monotone should be updated to latest version

2007-06-13 Thread Jeff Connelly
I also would like a newer version of Monotone in Ubuntu, for the same
reason (Pidgin). Monotone is up to 0.35 right now, and their source
package includes a debian directory with Debian package information. I
followed the instructions on dpkg-buildpackage and pbuilder at
https://help.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/packagingguide/C/basic-scratch.html to
create a source and amd64 binary package from the package information
included within the source distrribution; I am not sure if the resulting
packages are perfect, but it works for me. You can download the
(unsigned) packages I built at http://xyzzy.freeshell.org/monotone/.
Install with (if you are on amd64):

sudo apt-get build-dep monotone
sudo dpkg -i monotone_0.35-0.1_amd64.deb

Hope this helps someone. I agree that it would be nice if a Monotone
0.35 package was in universe.

[Bug 119944] Re: [Gutsy] Tribe 1 installer gives blank video during boot

2007-06-13 Thread Bryce Harrington
Hi Matt,

Thanks for including all the xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log files! Those are
helpful for ruling out several possibilities.

I notice in your xorg.conf that the monitor is listed as a generic. One
thing you could try is to manually specify the hsync and vrefresh rates
specific to your monitor in there. In theory, xorg should be able to
autodetect those, but sometimes it can't. You can do this by changing
your monitor section to look like this:

Section Monitor
Identifier Default
Option DPMS
HorizSync 28-80
VertRefresh 48-75
EndSection

But change the numbers to match the frequencies for your monitor. You
can find these rates from your monitor manual (usually). If you don't
have the manual handy, you can often find it on the manufacturer's
website.

Based on your description of the problem (everything working ok
seemingly, but the monitor blanking out) it sounds like a monitor issue.
Since monitor detection is not 100%, and issues are fairly common,
that's what makes me think the refresh rates may be mis-detected.
Apologies if you've already checked this.

2007-06-13 Thread Daniel Holbach
gnome-vfs-obexftp (0.3-0ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * New upstream release:
- Sync osso-gwobex and osso-gnome-vfs-extras changes from Maemo
  Subversion.
- Instead of asking hcid to set up the RFCOMM device for communication,
use an RFCOMM socket directly. This is both faster and doesn't require
  enabling experimental hcid interfaces.
- Improve free space calculation for Nokia phones with multiple memory
types (e.g. phone memory and a memory card).
Now the free space for the correct memory type for a given directory
should be returned. This fixes various free-space dependent operations
in Nautilus such as copying files. (LP: #116912)
- debian/copyright: updated. (LP: #120146)
- debian/control.in:
  - added libbluetooth-dev (= 3.7) to Build-Depends.
  - changed Maintainer field.

[Bug 116912] Re: Free Space on Phone's SD Card Incorrect in Nautilus

2007-06-13 Thread Daniel Holbach
gnome-vfs-obexftp (0.3-0ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * New upstream release:
- Sync osso-gwobex and osso-gnome-vfs-extras changes from Maemo
  Subversion.
- Instead of asking hcid to set up the RFCOMM device for communication,
use an RFCOMM socket directly. This is both faster and doesn't require
  enabling experimental hcid interfaces.
- Improve free space calculation for Nokia phones with multiple memory
types (e.g. phone memory and a memory card).
Now the free space for the correct memory type for a given directory
should be returned. This fixes various free-space dependent operations
in Nautilus such as copying files. (LP: #116912)
- debian/copyright: updated. (LP: #120146)
- debian/control.in:
  - added libbluetooth-dev (= 3.7) to Build-Depends.
  - changed Maintainer field.

[Bug 60038] Re: Scrambled sound in Edgy Eft Knot 2

2007-06-13 Thread samdehaeck
Hello,

thanks for looking at this bug again. Unfortunately the problem is still
not fixed. I am running the new feisty release now on my laptop, but
without sound. While this is not so problematic in itself, the problem
comes when a program tries to play a sound (like any game). This will
hang the process and the game will freeze until I manually kill it. Not
an optimal solution.

If you would like extra information, just let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Sam.

Dapper Flight 7 was a release candidate. Does the same problem occur

I think it was a general Ubuntu Bug. After fresh installation, some apps
crashed. Gnome-panel was more visibile, so I reported as a gnome-panel bug.
Sorry for that.
