[Bug 86426] Re: MASTER: [Feisty] Evolution always tries to print A4
Mark Erbaugh, for you on your computer modifying the hard-coded page size and recompiling should serve, but for a distro package I suggest to do something like page_setup = gtk_page_setup_new (); paper_size = gtk_paper_size_new (); print = gtk_print_operation_new (); Then the paper size from /etc/papersize will be used. This is still a very quick and dirty hack, as it serves only for people with one printer with their countries standard paper size loaded. For anyone working with more than one paper size a paper size option (in print dialog or in page setup dialog) is needed. -- MASTER: [Feisty] Evolution always tries to print A4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/86426 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 108731] Re: [Feisty] Installer is very slow when changing pages
OK I have gone back to the installer as I wanted to reinstall the laptop, as I have problems with many aspects of Ubuntus operation (wireless, eth0, etc.) Among other things I am having kern.log and syslog filled with garbage: ubuntu kernel 11 every second. I thought this was due to problems in the latest kernel release, but booting the installer I just checked kern.log and found it being flooded too. I am writing this from my workstation, which has a KVM switch to allow me to access my workstation, my firewall/server, and two laptops (one via port extender, the other - the one with the problem just by plugging in the KVM plugs). Well, I boot up the laptop and bring it onto my desk screen tail /var/log/kern.log -f and my screen (and the open laptop next to it) fills with "1". I switch the KVM to my workstation to report my problems, and presto the laptop now shows a series of "legible" errors: Jun 27 19:28:01 ubuntu last message repeated 172 times Jun 27 19:28:01 ubuntu kernel: [ 714.452000] ACPI Error (evgpe-0711): No handler or method for GPE[17], disabling event [20060707] If I switch the KVM back the "11" messages continue. If I unplug the screen I get the [ 714 messages again. There is a brief section of "171717171717" the moment the monitor tries (unsuccessfully) to match the resolution of the laptop The installer is nice and snappy - no problems as long as I keep my external screen unplugged. Re: [Bug 121791] Re: System freeze randomly
Hi there, Well the system freezed .. no mouse/keyboard activity. I tried to restart X with Ctrl+Alt+BackSpace or Ctrl+Alt+R or Ctrl+Alt+Sys but still nothing. The only thing that worked was the reset button. When I installed Ubuntu it worked fine in that evening, but in the next day I started Ubuntu and opened Gaim and Totem movie player to watch a movie. The system freezed while i was watching the movie. I restarted the computer and the same thing happened again. Sometimes it freezes even if I don't watch a movie. But the most frequent cases were while i watched some movie. The network manager? I read about it in a post on a topic that was very similar. I turned off the network manager but then while I was reading more on that topic it seemed that, for that guy, even with the network manager turned off it still didn't work. So I turned it back on. And after a half hour it freezed again. Then I restarted into windows :P. Probably i got frustrated :D. If it wasn't for this problem .. I would remove windows instantly. That's how much I like Ubuntu. Oh, this happened both in Beryl and "normal" Ubuntu .. it's called Compiz? Or Compiz is something else? I'm new to linux but i;m a programmer and I learn fast :). Anyway if you need me to test something I will gladly do it just let me know .. Keep up the good work .. it's worth it :) Horatiu --- Brian Murray <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and > helping to make Ubuntu > better. [Bug 122658] Please merge lintian (main) from Debian Unstable (main)
Public bug reported: Hello, There is a new Debian revision: lintian (1.23.32) unstable; urgency=low The "stability of output" release. * checks/binaries: + [RA] Sort the package SONAMEs to provide more stable lintian tags. Patch from Cyril Brulebois. (Closes: #428681) * checks/files{.desc,}: + [RA] Limit the Zope license exception to only .dtml, .pt, and .cpt files. Thanks, Bernd Zeimetz. + [RA] Sort the files listed in package-contains-hardlink so that the lintian output is stable regardless of the hash order of the directory when the tar file was built. + [RA] Don't incorrectly skip all other file location checks for hard links. + [RA] Check for files installed in /usr/lib/sgml. This transition was probably completed long ago, but checking for regression can't hurt. (Closes: #90019) * checks/manpages{.desc,}: + [RA] Check for dh_make man page templates (by looking for the template whatis entry). Thanks, Bill Allombert. (Closes: #173583) * checks/menus: + [RA] Avoid a quadratic search of the files in the package on doc-base files that list tons of files individually. This speeds up a lintian check of openoffice.org-dev-doc enormously. * checks/po-debconf: + [RA] Close the template file handle between files so that the line numbers for translated default fields are correct. * checks/rules{.desc,}: + [RA] Check for ignoring all errors from make clean or make distclean and recommend skipping the call if there's no Makefile instead. Thanks, Branden Robinson. (Closes: #325372) * checks/scripts{.desc,}: + [RA] Add Octave as an interpreter, and allow both versioned and unversioned forms. Thanks, Sebastian Harl. (Closes: #428403) + [RA] Check for deprecated install-sgmlcatalog usage. * checks/shared_libs: + [RA] Report the correct file for shlib-with-nonpic-code rather than the last shlib in the package. (Closes: #429840, #429528) * frontend/lintian: + [RA] Don't require -v in order to report unused overrides; they're already info-level tags, which is enough hiding. + [RA] Remove old dead unused override code. * reporting/html_reports: + [RA] Fix a Perl warning when generating the clean maintainer pages. * unpack/unpack-binpkg-l1: + [RA] Sort the output of tar tfv by filename so that the lintian output will be stable regardless of the hash order of the directory when the tar file was built. Ubuntu changes for the merge: lintian (1.23.32ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low * Merge from Debian unstable. Remaining Ubuntu changes: + If version contains "ubuntu", only accept Ubuntu distributions (#120040) + checks/lintian.desc: add "bad-ubuntu-distribution-in-changes-file" tag + checks/nmu: avoid NMU warning on Ubuntu uploads + frontend/lintian: check Ubuntu distribution if changelog contains "ubuntu" + Update Maintainer field to match Debian-Maintainer-Spec Thanks. ** Affects: lintian (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Jordan Mantha Status: Confirmed ** Tags: sync -- Please merge lintian (main) from Debian Unstable (main) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/122658 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 90769] Re: [apport] qalculate-gtk crashed with SIGSEGV in _gtk_marshal_BOOLEAN__BOXED()
I get a crash with a similar stack trace when moving focus in the window in certain ways. It's very easy to reproduce for example by starting Qalculate and pressing the tab button twice. Does the crash you're experiencing happen under similar circumstances? At least the crasher bug I've noticed has apparently been fixed upstream in the latest release (0.9.6). The changelog for that upstream release includes "Fix crash when expression entry reclaims focus if compiled with optimizations (GTK+)". I don't know if that's exactly the same bug I've experienced, but the cause may well be the same, and the crashes don't occur with the upstream 0.9.6 source. The patch attached in the following upstream bug also seems to fix the crash when applied to the 0.9.4 source in Feisty: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1678541&group_id=86696&atid=580546 -- [apport] qalculate-gtk crashed with SIGSEGV in _gtk_marshal_BOOLEAN__BOXED() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/90769 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
