[Bug 126104] Re: emblems are too small
Subscribing to this bug. I'll see if I can submit a patch for Nicolò's change. This is in need of a fix prior to Gutsy's release. The choice of using all orange for the emblems was risky, but they are still coherent (and quite attractive) when sized reasonably. However, with their current size, they are impossible to tell apart due to all being orange. Perhaps it is worth noting that some emblems which are not user defined - such as the FTP, Home and USB ones - are sized much more generously, and thus are quite coherent. -- emblems are too small https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/126104 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sorry about the hasty post. The pyversions fix I mentions previously does not completely fix the problem. The problem is the symlink but it breaks more pieces of python-central than just pyversions. [Bug 133251] Re: [Gutsy] Network Manager freezes system when logging into a WPA WiFi network using ralink rt2500
I'm pleased to write that with that deb it appears to work. Here are my steps: Booted from gitsy daily-live 25.2 (current as today). Then I removed the modules related to the wifi card (that was inserted in the PCMCIA slot at boot time, but removed after the boot) using rmmod on rt2500pci, rt2x00pci, rt2x00lib and rfkill (that was using something from rt2x00). After installing your package (previously downloaded to an ext3 partition) the card was not correctly detected the first time, inserting it a second time solved it. After that, it showed networks availables in n-m and connected correctly to my wpa-protected AP without problems at all. Now I'm writing using the connection. How can I help to push a definitive fix to this issue in the final release? Is it too late? According to your post you have located the exact commit where the issue was introduced (so it should be not so difficult to fix or revert the patch). am I wrong? Thank you for your help. I was loosing the hope to see this solved (and I have 2 pcs with rt2500 chips around...). [Bug 86011] Re: 20" Widescreen TFT not detected
Probably the reason that 1680x1050 isn't listed, is that xresprobe's ddcprobe.sh script always drops the highest resolution returned by ddcprobe. For some monitors (esp. true crts), the higher resolutions can be problematic, so it makes sense that the highest one would be dropped, even if that's sort of a crude solution for cases like these. The reason it's getting detected as crt instead of lcd is because ddcprobe.sh determines this by grepping for "^input: .*digital" from the ddcprobe output. Looking at the raw ddcprobe output, it doesn't seem there's any alternate way of detecting it's an lcd. Fortunately, I don't think there's much functional difference in how Ubuntu configures X for lcds from crts, so this error is probably innocuous. For gutsy, though, you should be able to fix this up post-install by using the Screens and Graphics tool. This bug should be left open though, so we can fix things better in Hardy. ** Changed in: xresprobe (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium Status: Confirmed => Triaged -- 20" Widescreen TFT not detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/86011 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Same symptoms, haven't tried to modprobe it to work yet. After some time it just stops working, the wireless light goes out as well. Mashing the radio button does no good, and it will not reconnect until next reboot. [Bug 134768] Re: Progress bar problems + failure to set usplash.conf values in Ubuntu tribe 4 and tribe 5 i386 and amd64 desktop cds
Same problem here, with Gutsy Beta LiveCD. My video card is a GeForce4 420 Go (SONY Vaio PCG-FR285E) Note that the progress bar is outsized and displaced during the first step of the boot process (when a small orange bar is moving from side to side). Then the splash screen disappears and the boot process follows displaying text in terminal mode (I guess this is the moment when the usplash progress bar should begin to fill the bar from left to right). Once i've installed the system on the hard disc though, usplash does work as expected. -- Progress bar problems + failure to set usplash.conf values in Ubuntu tribe 4 and tribe 5 i386 and amd64 desktop cds https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134768 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 139733] Re: window frames missing when compiz is enabled
Do I need to install something extra to get the config manager? Re: [Bug 144261] Re: gutsy gconf does load .gconf but does read it
I have of this date 27 sep updated every package and it's still a problem could I get the old package to build so I can see if it's something else it's gone from the archive. I can't seem to find where gconf now stores the values but it does. I tried killing the daemon and then running gconf-editor and it worked. I have tried attaching a strace to the daemon but it's to difficult understanding what it's doing. I don't have the tilda sign in these examples because the Alt-Gr does not work because it's tied to a gconf registry value. $ gconftool-2 -g /apps/evolution/version 2.12.0 $ cat .gconf/apps/evolution/%gconf.xml 2.6.0 2.6.0 -- gutsy gconf does load .gconf but does read it https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144261 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 145848] Re: No network after installing a command line system
Found the error in 70-persistent-net.rules I only have one network interface in this computer. Changed NAME="eth1" to NAME="eth1" solved the problem. Can this be fixed prior to final release?
