I had exactly the same problem on my G1 as well. After searching the web all morning and reading all your posts, I was not bothered in following all the steps outlined in the fix ISO. I am using Gutsy 7.10 server insall and had the same problem. So, what I ended up doing was, used the SmartStart CD 5.5 and did the usual steps there, when the disc is swapped with server ubuntu, when you start up normally and it asks you your language, I used back, which takes you to the menu of install opions. I selected Shell out to prompt. at the prompt I typed: modprobe -r sym53c8xx and hit enter then I typed: exit taking me back to the menu. And then selected language and followed through - no issue. [Bug 179876] Re: [Remove] Please remove compizconfig-backend-{gconf, kconfig} from hardy
I uploaded our package with the debian name now and updated the dependencies. This should make merging etc in the future easier. Currently the debian package is not very interessting as it is behind in version number (we track git) and it does not use cdbs (maintainer dislike of cdbs). ** Changed in: compizconfig-backend-kconfig (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Michael Vogt (mvo) Status: Confirmed = Fix Released ** Changed in: compizconfig-backend-gconf (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress = Fix Released -- [Remove] Please remove compizconfig-backend-{gconf,kconfig} from hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/179876 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
