Re: [Bug 211174] Re: In Page video clip plays minus sound
Final Report from the Buggee (Bug 211174) After this morning's Ubuntu/Adobe update, Firefox video and sound is working well. Also, for the first time the System-Preferences-Sound tests work on this PC (Dell Dim 4650). Once I installed the Pulseaudio driver, Firefox used either Gnash or Flash with no problem. Opera (9.50 Beta 1,Build 1643) also worked, It is using the gxine 0.5.901, etc for streamed film and the Mozilla Flash plug-in for flash video clip. Opera does not seem to detect Mozilla Gnash plug-in. [Bug 211627] Re: nautilus constantly crashing and using 100% resources
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. [Bug 195009] Re: [Hardy] synaptic touchpad not detected
I'm afraid I've tried all of theses suggestions, with no results. Put in the psmouse.proto=imps as a boot-time edit on the grub selection menu, and it was echoed properly, but didn't work. The rmmod/modprobe of psmouse was confirmed (both ways - in/out) with an lsmod | grep mouse with no results. This was done from a terminal window in Xwin (no restart) -- was that correct? I've read and worked through the trouble- shooting.txt file days ago (no joy). I was hoping for a much more detailed document. Perhaps the kernel is still changing too rapidly to make that type of documentation effort effective. I could send you more hard technical info, but I suspect that you've just seen it all before and your time is probably better spent swatting this deep in the code. [Bug 207342] Re: Exaile - Kaffeine conflict
After 04 April 2008 Complete re-install with x363 Updates including new kernel 2.6.24-14-generic, Kaffeine stability seems to have been restored, leaving Exaile with problems under #210114. So, please close this report, leaving #210114 open. -- Exaile - Kaffeine conflict https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/207342 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 196778] Re: Provide likewise-open-gui and likewise-open binaries rather than domainjoin-gui and domainjoin-cli
Hi Nicolas, Two comments for your debdiff: - You have totally broken the clean target. The clean target in your debdiff does nothing. You don't need to comment this things: # dh_testdir # dh_testroot # rm -f build-stamp configure-stamp # $(MAKE) clean # dh_clean - I think adding another .desktop file only for KDE is suboptimal... Another way would be to patch the desktop file to use su-to-root. Although that would add a dependency on menu, so let's leave your change, which is good too. I hope we have a su-to-root freedesktop wrapper provided in xdg-utils. ** Changed in: likewise-open (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- Provide likewise-open-gui and likewise-open binaries rather than domainjoin-gui and domainjoin-cli https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196778 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 208418] Re: ValueError when trying to pull/merge from a remote repository
1.3.1rc1 just adds that bug fix. (1.3.1 final will probably just add the test case to the test suite on top of that.) So, you may as well upgrade. -- ValueError when trying to pull/merge from a remote repository https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/208418 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 83553] Re: redundant updating of packages
Yes, of a sort. I still get lots of KDE packages updated only because of small changes in one component, although this is mitigated somewhat by my removing most of KDE by hand. If I understand the updating process correctly, this is caused by the fact that KDE comes in a big fat source package, and a single update requires re-compiling everything else. So it's not something that can be solved at update (aptitude) level. AFAIK the only fix would be splitting the big KDE source package in several smaller source packages, a bit like gnome does. I'm not sure how realistic that is. ** Changed in: meta-kde (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- redundant updating of packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/83553 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
