[Bug 192888] Re: firefox crashes on flash contents when using libflashsupport
I still think that some blame is to be put to ubuntu's firefox package. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity I have tried installing both 7.10 and 8.04 and got the same probelm both times. I tried installing PC Linux OS into the same space without a similar problem. The installer gets about 50% through the copying files process and then fails. I'm similar to the rest: -16 resumes quickly, -17 doesn't, and neither does -19. [Bug 42553] Re: wacom input devices enabled by default, why?
There is a package to install to enable it (wacom-tools). It doesn't munge xorg.conf though, which some users need. The options I've seen are: * Require users to write to xorg.conf themselves. Judging from the bugs, this is somewhere between annoying and outright unacceptable for wacom users, but does satisfy KDE developers / users. * Place a pen section commented. This satisfies KDE, but somewhat annoying to wacom users and obsessive compulsive Xorg developers who'd like to see the end of xorg.conf in Ubuntu. * Write a script to rewrite xorg.conf on wacom-postinst. Getting closer, but requires an xorg restart and annoys the people most likely to write the fix. This is the approach Vincenzo appears to be promoting with dexconf, despite a vague recommendation that "dexconf is depricated and old" from #ubuntu-x. * Proper input hotplugging and wacom autodetection. No more xorg.conf, no more KDE excrement on bogus xorg.conf entries, no tricky xorg.conf parsers, and no angry wacom users. I humbly submit the last one is where the future lies if we intend to ever fix bug #1. At that point perhaps wacom could be installed by default, or at least suggested by whatever we call the driver manager today. [Bug 236677] [NEW] Compiz "locks up" when one of the applications menu is open and the application crashes.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz The other day, I had firefox running and my home directory is mounted on a md raid drive. That day the md drives were syncing and the file read time was incredibly long. I happened to be right clicking on firefox when firefox stopped responding. Compiz made it turn gray, but after it did that, I couldn't click on anything again. The menu that firefox poped up was not gray only firefox was gray. The display hadnt' crashed or anything else. The applications in the background were running smooth. Then after a minute, firefox came back and everything was back to normal until the next time firefox had to access files from the HD. I believe it happened with the right click menu and the toolbar menu on top. I think compiz is waiting for the program to accept the closure of the menu, but the program is not responding. The menu has a special functionality that when it is open, all of the clicks outside of it are only to close the menu and cant be used for anything else. Thus in this wait the user cannot interact with her desktop at all. I was lucky enough that firefox had not actually crashed. I am not sure what would have happened if it actually did. (I was planning on logging into my computer from my laptop to kill firefox, but it came back before I had the chance.) ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Compiz "locks up" when one of the applications menu is open and the application crashes. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236677 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
