[Bug 109434] Re: Installing a server for a game automatically auto-inits and runs every boot.
I think wesnoth-server shouldn't start wesnothd server automatically at statup. Why so? Wesnoth client will require wesnothd to be present for some functionality in 1.6 and is already requiring wesnothd in 1.5 development versions. This is only for minor lan game feature. Solution that I would think of is that wesnothd binary can be installed using package wesnoth-server which doesn't make it auto start. If someone wants to host MP server that starts always that would be provided by wesnoth-mp-server package. mp-server package would depend on wesnoth-server and only install configurations to run wesnothd at start up. -- Installing a server for a game automatically auto-inits and runs every boot. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109434 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I should add, it is not a problem with rsync. The problem is that .gvfs is (apparently) not behaving like a normal dir. It does not say it is a link, but rsync seems to treat it like a lnk. [Bug 254864] [NEW] nvidia-glx-new in hardy-proposed gives wrong video modes and refresh rates
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24-20-386 If I use the nvidia-glx-new driver package currently in hardy-proposed (version 169.12+2.6.24.14-20.46) ddc information is somewhat reported incorrectly, and I can set only resolutions up-to 1024x768 with low refresh rates. Using the previous driver in hardy-updates (version 169.12+2.6.24.13-19.45), I had my 1600x1200 at 85hz. A workaround is to use nvidia-settings to configure the resolution. Nvidia-settings recognises ddc information correctly. I attach the two log files (using the old and new display driver), the xorg.conf that was generated by ubuntu, and the new one I wrote using nvidia-settings. I also attach my lspci -vvvn, and the output from "sudo ddcprobe" which seems to indicate a problem. ** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- nvidia-glx-new in hardy-proposed gives wrong video modes and refresh rates https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254864 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

No, it's a patch that makes rubygems work better on systems with update-alternatives, while you should aim at a global solution instead. I won't be the one making the final decision on this, but for this patch to be added to the package, I would either want: (a) that the patch is very, very small (b) or that the patch is going to be integrated upstream in the near future > > Please check what has been done in Debian recently with the rubygems and > > ruby1.9 packages. It is a problem. The workaround is to have an exclude file with the line: - .gvfs Funnily, - .gvfs/ did not work. Maybe it is not really a dir? The solution above would also work with amended grammar. I think the format for an exclude should be: --exclude="- .gvfs" or for just one home dir: --exclude="- /home/david/.gvfs" though I did not test it. I personally prefer a patch system too (if it's a packaging that I did myself and it's not a project that lives completely in bzr), but in this case it's a package we inherit from Debian. We had complaints from Debian developers before when the diff on merges.u.c they were looking at comprised not only of changes that were necessary, but also changes to the packaging. I'm not going to stop you from doing this, I'd just say: stick to whatever the Debian package does too. -- Please apply supertux-0.3.1-gcc43.patch from Fedora https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/249195 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 254272] Re: Still uses multiuser argument to dh_installinit
Hi Devid, The patch you've provided looks correct on its own; but perhaps we should merge the new version from Debian at the same time? There have been two NMUs to fix an undeclared package conflict, which seems like another fix we should have. Would you be willing to prepare a merge for this? spiro2903: I think you have been hitted by bug 352218 (marked at duplicate of 95569) due to a problem in frequency scaling reported and confirmed long time ago but still unsolved. A workaround is to set the frequency governor in the "conservative" state. This may slow your computer a bit but it is better than rebooting every now and them. For changing this, go to a terminal and type gconf-editor Open apps -> gnome-power-manager -> cpufreq and set policy_ac and policy_battery items to "conservative" (I think that "performance" also works and is faster for a desktop, probably too power-consuming for a laptop). [Bug 254853] [NEW] Resume from suspend fails with Bios Key, works with menu.
Public bug reported: I have a Thinkpad T61. I installed gutsy where suspend worked flawlessly. I upgraded to Intrepid and now the following occurs. Suspend-to-RAM from the laptop-battery-icon menu works as it should, well almost. The machine sleeps but it takes a bit longer than it did in gutsy. On resume a large (maybe 50ish px wide) underscore character flashes a few times in the top left and then the X session resumes. Sometimes the machine also decides to beep. Suspend-to-RAM using the bios key suspends pretty quickly as it should, but on result the graphics card doesn't seem to initialize properly. [Bug 236422] Re: sansa mp3 players not mounted when plugged in
I have a similar issue with my Sansa fuze on Ubuntu 8.04 it does not mount automatically. I can either unplug it and plug it back in quickly and it will mount ,or run modprobe -r ehci_hcd and then modprobe ehci_hcd and it will mount the Sansa .
