[Bug 282186] Re: HP Photosmart 2610 top first cm not printed
All is going the correct way for you. You are using the correct filter and PPD file. It seems that the hpijs driver is clipping the borders according to the PPD settings. If I run a command line like cupsfilter -m application/vnd.cups-pdf -p /etc/cups/ppd/Photosmart_C8100_series.ppd /usr/share/system-config- printer/testpage-a4.ps > output.pdf and display the output with evince, the borders are cut with the original pstopdf and not touched with my new pstopdf. The command line runs the filter chain without the final driver step (in our case pstopdf and pdftopdf). It shows that pdftopdf does not clip the margins. -- HP Photosmart 2610 top first cm not printed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/282186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 274995] Re: MASTER storing ALSA mixer element values during shutdown hangs nondeterministically if non-loopback network interfaces are still up
Even though they have a lot in common, I'm convinced these issues have two different root causes, but I'm also hopeful that the change for bug 126140 will also avoid ours (bug 274995). Bug 126140 is about certain PCs that remain powered up at the end of their shutdown sequence. Anyone remember the Windows "It is now safe to turn off your computer" screen? That's essentially the behavior of bug 126140, minus the cheery-souding Microsoft comforting. Both that problem and ours ... can be avoided by rmmod -f snd_hda_intel (the sound driver) ... generally involved Alsa ... interrupted normal shutdown But ... 274995 is not actually a hang ... 126140 actually is a hang ... 274995 has a networking workaround ... 126140 seems to have a power-management workaround The "fix" for bug 126140 isn't r-e-a-l-l-y a fix because it doesn't address the root cause (which certainly could be a BIOS oddness), but it does avoid it. Before the hang, the code will now respond to a system reboot signal by releasing the interrupts. It was tested against the problem in 126140. If the net effect of releasing the interrupts is the same as "rmmod -f snd_hda_intel" then it should also avoid our problem as well. We should test it. If it does, we should also make sure that nothing else broke in the process -- for example, does the shutdown in /etc/init.d/alsa-tools still save and zero mixer settings like it was written to do? My suggestion is that we don't call these duplicate bugs until such testing is complete, even though we are hopeful that this one change avoids both issues. -- MASTER storing ALSA mixer element values during shutdown hangs nondeterministically if non-loopback network interfaces are still up https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/274995 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

important information. my laptop connects to a wireless router over a password protected (authenticated) connection, I was checking the system log and noticed many backtraces from the kernel relating to the wireless driver, went to network mannager applet, edit connection, filled in the BSSID setting and check the box that says system setting, after this I open a couple of network aware applications (gtk-gnutella, bittorrent client) open a totem window start to listen stream radio, no skips, seems to me the wpa disosiation and reasociation was taking place too often causing the driver to spike the cpu ussage and therefore causing skips on the sound system. -- ath5k_pci sudden high cpu ussage causes audio skips https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293453 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 213444] Re: Hardy Heron nfs (client) reports internal error when I attempt to mount with NFS
Jason, My workaround since 8.04 has been to add the "noauto" option to the line in /etc/fstab - and then mount it from a command prompt when the desktop is booted and logged in. If it fails the first time, try again. In your case: "sudo mount /home/jason/Sync" FWIW, Not that I'm an expert but for reliability and then to speed it back up, I use TCP rather than UDP and increase the window sizes. This leaves me with the following options: rsize=32768,wsize=32768,proto=tcp,noauto You might want to try them as well as noauto.
