[Bug 325647] [NEW] Please SRU (or backport) gst-plugins-bad
Public bug reported: Hi, In the current intrepid version of gstreamer-plugin-bad (0.10.8) the DVD support is completely broken. If you read the release notes, resindvd was introduced in that version of the plugin set and it was in an experimental state. So it's even not possible to read the dvd because resindvd attempt to read the menu and faill. If you read the change log for the version 0.10.9, you can see that resindvd is getting stabilized. Indeed there is a ppa with latest gstreamer packages and dvd menu browsing work greatly. So we should really, either backport or make an SRU in order to allow people to watch DVD in a decent way (remember, the default install is built around totem-gstreamer so this is needed to be able to watch dvd). Please also note that this version of gst-plugin-bad depends on libcelt 0.4 (which isn't in intrepid) and should also be backported BUT, libcelt hasn't any reverse dependencies (so you won't break softwares by uploading a new version of that package). [Bug 325631] Re: when choosing what to do with menu.lst while updating i did show 3 way differ and then Cancel
Thanks for your report. Changing sourcepackage to debconf, which I hope is correct. I have had a similar experience to you in the past, where (from memory) the options Cancel and Forward are presented at the diff. When the user thinks I don't want to do this, they want to hit the back option, so Cancel appears to be the most appropriate. It is not obvious that Forward is how you go back, as it is reasonable to expect that the merge action would be performed. Only a single option should be available when viewing the diff. Probably it's been deleted when the support for 7.04 ended, or maybe i'm just too lame. Anyway, the reported bug doesn't sho up under my own bugreports list. Since then i am using 8.04.2 on different machines, but this bug still remains! I installed 8.04.2 with default gnome, then installed the whole xfce4 from the repository. (with all xfce goodies, xfce tools, artworks, even the xubuntu-default-settings package) The problem is, when i use the xfce desktop compositor (ie. i set the let xfce manage your desktop), then windows become transparent when i move or resize them, panels become transparent, and the xfce menu is transparent too, despite every transparency slider is set to 0 (ie. no transparency) The explicit options to set transparency of windows while moved or resized, the transparency of panels etc, do not seem to have any effect. Windows are still transparent. I have seen this on all the machines i use, with completely different hardware: nvidia video, intel video, ati video -- all the same. ** Affects: xfce4 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: desktop menu transparency xfce4 -- Transparency problems with xfdesktop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/325662 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Works fine for me in Ubuntu 8.10 (although it's not the 'default' behavior...) I have set When laptop lid is closed = {Do nothing} in [ System Preferences Power Management On AC Power ]. [Bug 325679] [NEW] oo calc - I cannot add a trend line y=Ax to a chart
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org When I have a XY scatter chart, usually I draw a linear trend line, e.g., a function y=Ax+B that minimizes the MSE error. Sometimes, the inner theory implies that the term B must be equal to zero. In that case, we must force B=0 (and the trend line must pass through the point (0,0) ). When a trend line is added in Excel, there is a check box in order to do that, but in openoffice calc there is not nothing similar. Thanks PD: Excel has also a statistical analysis package.
