[Bug 327932] [NEW] News&Blogs Preview Pane - bgcolor & font color clash

2009-02-10 Thread Derek White
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Changed Ubuntu theme to DarkRoom (the first dark theme to ship with
Ubuntu and it works with FireFox, yay!) and noticed some conflicts with
the preview pane when an RSS feed is opened.

The "On This Computer" list, message list, and e-mail preview pane all
picked up the bgcolor changes (from white to an off-white/peach [I'm
color blind...sorta]) and use a black font color (when the e-mail
doesn't specify a color set). However, when viewing an RSS feed, the
preview pane bgcolor is pure white and the text color is a grey/silver
color (no idea where this came from). The white and grey clash
drastically (I have to Ctrl-Shift-X to read any of it).

Prior to applying the theme, the preview pane had a white bg with black
font, when viewing RSS feeds.

Somehow, for only RSS feeds, the bgcolor did not get updated and the
font color changed from black to grey/silver.

This must be an oversight [in the RSS plugin?], since everything else is
perfectly themed.

[Bug 288026] Re: choppy sound, /var/log/message full of 'kernel: ... hp_event' at same time

2009-02-10 Thread Tim Riker
Unloading and reloading the snd_hda_intel module sometimes clears this.

stopping and restarting all sound applications sometimes clears this
without having to unload/reload the module. A ctrl-alt-backspace in X
and relogin sometime fixes it.

Note: I see this with Debian unstable as well on 2.6.26-1-686

I expect the so-called 6-drive kernel module is not handling some
input/output port detection correctly on init.

I have stereo speakers connected to the back of the computer and other
audio port are unused at present.

sore, there is not an error message in your Xorg.0.log, which makes it
hard to figure out how to troubleshoot this one.

Can you also look in your /var/log/gdm/* files after reproducing the

[Bug 327926] [NEW] xfconf dbus service doesn't know about XDG user variables

2009-02-10 Thread Mario Limonciello
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfconf

I've been trying to port over all of the mythbuntu xfce settings to the
new xfconf based setup and racking my head out. I have checked, double
checked, and even triple checked all syntax everywhere.

It then finally dawned upon me. When you log into your session, xfconf
appears to not care about any XDG environment variable that has been set
up for you. If I kill xfconfd and respawn it manually, xfconf-query
suddenly knows all about these other missing variables.

[Bug 327928] [NEW] Glipper crashing at boot

2009-02-10 Thread Uqbar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: glipper

The Glipper panel applet is crashing at the desktop boot with a generic message
"The panel encountered an error while loading OAFIID:Glipper".
I've answered to remove the applet from the desktop and now I'm not able to add
it again even after a re-installation of the applet package.
I'm attaching a screen snapshot.

Keep getting this on make:

Anywho, what source are you using to build? It looks like the repos I have
already does what your patch changes.
