[Bug 311487] Re: ldap n-way multi master from Ubuntu Server guide
Hi Adam, i followed this link to to install and configure https://help.ubuntu.com/8.10/serverguide/C/openldap-server.html i did exactly the same way in all machines as per link but still i am getting same error the log is: bdb_equality_candidates entryUUID not indexed then i added one user to one server so that got replicated on all servers but now the log has changed to: bdb_equality_candidates entryCSN not indexed later i tried adding one more user from some other ldap server. its adding locally only. not replicating on all servers now again some more log messages: slapd[4711]: connection_read(26): no connection ! slapd[4711]: connection_read(26): no connection ! from which ladp server i have added latest user... And one more log msg: cannot initialize libpolkit i don't know whether this message is related to ldap or not this is how my replication is failing ... i am not an openldap expert plz suggest me how to solve this issue help me thanks vsu -- ldap n-way multi master from Ubuntu Server guide https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/311487 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 363576] [NEW] problem accessing shared folders
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I'm having a problem accessing shared folders on other local machines. I'm using Ubuntu 8.04.2. All updates have been applied. 1. Nautilus sees other computers on the network, but when I click on one of them, after a long pause, it just shows a blank window with no shared folders. 2. From the terminal smbclient //nasdrive/sharedfolder -U username returns: timeout connecting to 206.112.100.151:445 timeout connecting to 206.112.100.151:139 Error connecting to 206.112.100.151 (Operation already in progress) Connection to nasdrive failed (Error NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED) I have no idea where 206.112.100.151 comes from. It's always this same address, and I have no machines with that IP address. 3. From the terminal, sudo smbtree responds correctly. Also, it fixes the other problems, temporarily. Nautilus can now access shared drives. The same smbclient command above now accesses the appropriate folder, with no errors. It's necessary to run smbtree with sudo. Without using sudo, smbtree responds correctly, but it doesn't fix the other problems. 4. After reboot, all the problems return. 5. Both my installed system and the live CD behave the same. ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete -- problem accessing shared folders https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/363576 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Hi, DVDStyler needs the unstripped version of libavcodec to work correctly (because of mpeg2 encoding), so the fix you are proposing will let a non working dvdstyler. [Bug 287013] Re: hardy and intrepid beta cause system hang before login screen on ga pcv2
I also have this problem - I have tested it with two different versions of the GA-PCV2 motherboard, one with the VIA Samuel 2 800 MHz processor (GA-PCV2 CSI-SI) and one with the VIA Nehemiah 1.0 GHz processor (GA- PCV2 DSI-ID). Otherwise, the boards are identical. I successfully installed 8.10 on the board with the Samuel 2 processor and it works fine - no issues at all. If I swap the hard drive over to the board with the Nehemiah processor, it hangs as soon as Xorg starts up. Before that point, I can call up a command prompt and log in using ctrl-alt-F1. The Nehemiah based motherboard works fine with a Windows XP install. It appears that something in Xorg doesn't like the Nehemiah processor. Re: [Bug 195698] Re: Password asked separately for each tab that requires it
On the other hand, other people can (if you're not attending the PC, and have the master password already entered), also log into your webmail, internet banking, ebay account, etc, and start doing nefarious things there too, even if they can't immediately see your password in a text file somewhere. It's basically a matter of how much you trust other people who you leave at your PC. If you're paranoid about such things it's better to quickly create a new system account, lock your current window manager login, and then login to the new window manager as the new user (and make sure that your home directory permissions are secure). It does not look like this issue will be fixed in time for Jaunty's release. Taking into account that everyone installing German language support over language-selector will be affected by this, I would suggest to remove hunspell-de-med as a workaround. ** Affects: language-support-extra-de (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Please remove hunspell-de-med in Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363619 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Chris, all language-support-extra-* packages are universe. This just started happening on my machine within the past day. [Bug 338645] Re: linux freezes completely since 2.6.28-7
Same problem here. Thinkpad X61. Computer freezes during high disk activity. Though, it's probably not EXT4, because I had the same problem with a EXT3/Reiserfs setup. In fact, I did a clean ext4 install to test out my original theory of this being a reiserfs problem. Sometimes you can recover from the freeze by waiting a bit and gently tap the power button, which can bring up the Gnome shutdown panel. Even after recovery, computer quickly becomes unusable and loaded with some kind of processing. If you check powertop, you would find the processor mysteriously at C0 80 or 90% of the time with no program attributable to the activity. No weird messages or oops in kernel log. But I do have a theory about this being a problem with Ath5k. -- linux freezes completely since 2.6.28-7 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/338645 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 363625] [NEW] ical import hangs / opening calendar hangs

I stumbled over this as evolution started to hang when activating the calendar component with the message Opening file I toyed around a bit and deleted all the ~/.evolution/calendar/local directories, causing evolution to get unstuck when switching to the calendar component (although my calendar entries are now missing). Trying to get my entries back, I took the backup of the deleted directory and tried importing the ICS files individually, causing a hang. I traced the hang, see attached backtrace. [Bug 363630] [NEW] aiglx error after upgrading to compiz 8.2
Public bug reported: I recently upgraded my system to jaunty. But after then I realized that some packages had not been upgraded and they have stars on them in the synaptic manager so I did these upgrades: Upgraded the following packages: command-not-found (0.2.34ubuntu2) to 0.2.34ubuntu3 command-not-found-data (0.2.34ubuntu2) to 0.2.34ubuntu3 compiz (1:0.8.2-0ubuntu7) to 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8 compiz-core (1:0.8.2-0ubuntu7) to 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8 compiz-gnome (1:0.8.2-0ubuntu7) to 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8 compiz-plugins (1:0.8.2-0ubuntu7) to 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8 compiz-wrapper (1:0.8.2-0ubuntu7) to 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8 libdecoration0 (1:0.8.2-0ubuntu7) to 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8 libgl1-mesa-dev (7.4-0ubuntu2) to 7.4-0ubuntu3 libgl1-mesa-dri (7.4-0ubuntu2) to 7.4-0ubuntu3 libgl1-mesa-glx (7.4-0ubuntu2) to 7.4-0ubuntu3 libglu1-mesa (7.4-0ubuntu2) to 7.4-0ubuntu3 libglu1-mesa-dev (7.4-0ubuntu2) to 7.4-0ubuntu3 libpoppler-dev (0.10.5-1ubuntu1) to 0.10.5-1ubuntu2 libpoppler-glib4 (0.10.5-1ubuntu1) to 0.10.5-1ubuntu2 libpoppler-qt4-3 (0.10.5-1ubuntu1) to 0.10.5-1ubuntu2 libpoppler-qt4-dev (0.10.5-1ubuntu1) to 0.10.5-1ubuntu2 libpoppler4 (0.10.5-1ubuntu1) to 0.10.5-1ubuntu2 mesa-common-dev (7.4-0ubuntu2) to 7.4-0ubuntu3 mesa-utils (7.4-0ubuntu2) to 7.4-0ubuntu3 poppler-utils (0.10.5-1ubuntu1) to 0.10.5-1ubuntu2 ubuntu-wallpapers (0.28.2) to 0.28.4 usb-creator (0.1.15) to 0.1.16 and then compiz stopped to work. The I automatically updated xorg.conf by sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg but nothing changed. So I decided to run compiz check to see what is going on and it gave the output as: Gathering information about your system... Distribution: Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop environment: GNOME Graphics chip: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) Driver in use: intel Rendering method: None Checking if it's possible to run Compiz on your system... [SKIP] Checking for hardware/setup problems... [SKIP] At least one check had to be skipped: Error: No rendering method in use (AIGLX, Xgl or Nvidia) So somehow rendering method is disabled. [Bug 347624] Re: No usplash with resume= parameter
this is probably a problem with the swap uuid not being correct in fstab and resume. the following fix worked for me: open terminal and run code: sudo blkid then copy the swap uuid without the quotes run code: gksu gedit /etc/fstab paste the correct uuid into fstab (be sure it is the swap file uuid) save and close gedit then run code: gksu gedit /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume again, copy the correct swap uuid, save and close gedit add the resume call if you dont have it in place finally run code: sudo update-initramfs -u it should work when you reboot--at least it did for me -- No usplash with resume= parameter https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/347624 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 363634] [NEW] I cannot focus Evolution through the applet if it was launched with alltray
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: indicator-applet If I launch Evolution using alltray (alltray -na evolution), the indicator applet works mostly fine (an envelope icon apperars and it shows when there are new messages). However, if I try to focus evolution by clicking in the applet and selecting Evolution mail, it does nothing. I actually don't expect this to work, but I wonder why it is half- working.
