[Bug 208913] Re: aprsd crashes when someone logs in from network
Likewise I to have suffered some ill effect of this bug and have resorted to using a closed source alternate called javAPRSSrv. However I believe that this issue should be reviewed... segmentation fault on amd64 but all OK on i386 easy way to replicate is run application then attempt a connection to any of the available ports defined and the program will terminate! I realise that the amateur population may be small, but the use of this program is still an important aspect for many that do. I'm happy to do some debugging if this is an issue... but I'm by no means a programmer myself! ;) -- aprsd crashes when someone logs in from network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/208913 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 427463] Re: FFe: Sync java-gnome 4.0.13-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
@Stefan, The bug you mentioned is not actually a bug in java-gnome. The doc generation process in java-gnome tries to take screenshots of some demo apps running with help of xvfb. This screenshot generation triggers a problem in glib when using old kernels (which seem to be the case on Debian buildd). Another similar bug is http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=543587 This failure should not happen on Ubuntu buildd. So I would assume the problem never was ipw2200. Could it be that some other kernel module eats up the precious kind of memory that ipw2200 previously needed to reload its firmware? I have something in mind like Bug #328232 where the values in /proc/dri/0/gem_objects keep constantly growing. [Bug 367464] Re: Jaunty freezes randomly
Having a similar issue on two different systems - one using NVIDIA and the other using Intel. I don't get any flashing caps lock. When the computer freezes, I am able to ssh to the machine from another computer and run commands. Applications running in the X window are frozen (eg, downloads carry the 'last modified' timestamp at the time of the freeze) and the only solution is the kill the session from the command line. Usually that does the trick - but everything is of course lost. [Bug 394500] Re: [karmic] pulseaudio: card not found - Null Output / Dummy Output
So I disabled the Hardware Drivers for the modem. So the slmodemd is not loading now and I have sound everytime. If you need some sort of output from the slmodemd as installed, I could load it back in. I guess if I ever wanted to use the modem on this machine, I would need to figure out some way to have it coexist with the regular sound. Also, the big problem I'm having now is that the sound is really quiet, even though I turned up the soft/hard volume switches to the maximum level. I know this laptop can do much better than that - I've heard it before, when I had use the sudo alsa force-reload before or something. Is there some setting I can change somewhere to have the volume be louder? Like maybe some type of pulseaudio setup wizard. Sorry if I haven't researched pulseaudio as much as I should have already. [Bug 428721] [NEW] cooling fan not turning on while in screen saver Aspire 5100
Public bug reported: Cooling fan does not turn on when it should while in screen save (or powersave screen off) causing an overheat and safety shutdown of laptop at 95 degrees C. Acer Aspire 5100 laptop running 64-bit Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS. 1 MG RAM 2 Mhz dual core AMD processor (Turion 64-bit), acpi 0.09-3ubuntu1, acpid 1.0.4-5ubuntu9.3, acpi-support 0.109-0hardy2. This is a new issue. This machine has been running 64-bit Ubuntu 8.04 since April 2008 and this problem only recently began to occur. I would expect the fan to be turned on when necessary even when in screen saver or monitor powersave off mode to keep the cpu within acceptable operating parameters. This being a new issue is why I am not attributing this to a hardware issue and am wondering if a recent update caused a regression. My temporary workaround is I installed a cpu temperature monitoring applet which resides on my upper panel and not only displays the current temperature but also sounds a repeating alarm whenever the cpu temp exceed 72 C. I can reproduce this by leaving the machine alone and allowing it to go into screensaver and after some time the alarms will sound. Once I wiggle the mouse the fan will then turn on and bring the temperature back to acceptable levels. While using the computer normally, I notice that it usually operates in the mid 50's C and the fan will turn on when it reaches 63 C and bring it back to the mid fifties. I have not yet attempted a BIOS upgrade to see if that would help (I feel like since this is a new problem that I should not have to resort to that.) [Bug 428714] [NEW] hdate-applet should increment the date at nightfall, not midnight
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hdate-applet Days on the Hebrew calendar begin at nightfall, not at midnight like they do on the Gregorian calendar. The hdate-applet should increment dates at nightfall from Saturday night through Thursday night, and at sundown on Friday night. The reason for the different time on Friday night is because of the uncertain time between sunset and nightfall, and the longstanding tradition to err on the side of allotting extra time to the Sabbath from Friday night to Saturday night. If there is a desire to keep things simple and not implement the sunset/nightfall distinction, the date should increment at sundown, because that time is already known to and displayed by hdate-applet. Thank you for posting this bug report, it saved me immense amounts of frustration. A work around for me was to put the ISO in a path that did not include an apostrophe. Re: [Bug 428523] Re: unable to update
Chris As you can see from the output, you have no space left on the /boot partition. The operation you're trying to accomplish will not succeed until it has some space to write to. Check what you have on /boot, clean some space (you can ask for advice regarding that on answers.launchpad.net) and try performing the installation again. [Bug 74518] Re: KDE clipboard (klipper) incompatible with lesstif
Just an FYI, this is not just limited to Nedit. This is an application- wide issue. The Copy/Paste feature intermediately works and crashes. I'm running KDE 4.2 and it happens so much it's extremely frustrating. I not only use Nedit but also Zend Studio. The Copy/Paste issue also happens in Konsole. The reason is because the Klipper is not controlling the items "copied". This is indeed only for the 4.x build as it does not happen in the 3.5 build. I really hope this is resolved... I don't want to use Gnome, but as a developer it's really making my life hell... -- KDE clipboard (klipper) incompatible with lesstif https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/74518 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
