hi, as described in bug ... i worked around this problem by disabling two new features in ATH9K (power management and rfkill polling) that were described as possibly buggy in ath9k-devel. i have put a rebuilt version of linux-backports-modules on this PPA: https://launchpad.net/~frank-dekervel/+archive/ppa for me it brings back jaunty-like performance. i don't know much about ppa's and when i have to re-upload the package (on every new linux-image ? or only when the version number increases?), but it seems to work on my computer. i used the package linux-backports-modules-2.6.31-10-generic (version 2.6.31-10.12kervel2) see also my comments in bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/378156 and http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13807 sorry for the crossposting but i believe that all these bugreports are related. greetings, frank -- ath9k disassociates/reassociates a lot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/414560 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm Looking at Karmic Alpha 5: On logging on for the first time, the user only sees two buttons. Restart or Shutdown. Many users will only look at the buttons. Worse the login user name is already highlighted by default (only one user after first install) - it is not at all obvious that you should click on an already highlighted user name to bring up a password prompt. I believe this needs some work to make it more friendly, usable and intuitive. I'd suggest a Login button, even if all it does is act the same as clicking on the highlighted user name. Not have the user name highlighted, unless you also display the password box. At the moment I know most of my family would try clicking on a button or Other... in the hope that something would work. [Bug 430579] [NEW] When selecting part of an HTML email and replying only to that part, Evolution removes line breaks
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Evolution has a great feature where you can reply to a small part of an email by selecting only the needed part and using the reply function. This works very well for plain text emails, but for HTML emails the selected part becomes the quoted part of a new HTML email, but all the line breaks of the original message (new lines, br/ tags) are stripped off so you see the original email as one long line - regardless of how many lines or paragraphs the selected text contains. This makes replying to long HTML messages a tedious process where I have to debate if I rather select the text I want to reply to and then spend time putting back the line breaks where I remember them to be, or just reply to everything and edit away what I don't need. Thanks for your reply and suggestions. I regret to have to report that, having found an unorthodox solution already, I was unable to apply them. [Bug 430594] [NEW] When bug already known, set This bug affects me too to yes.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apport When reporting a known crash, apport will show a message box with something like This bug is already reported. See the bug report in the opened web page to add information In this case, apport should set This bug affects me too to yes automatically. Rationale: Before this addition, duplicate crash bug reports seemed quite important to judge which crashes are widespread and thus important to fix. If apport now automatically recognizes duplicates before submitting them, this information is lost. This can be regained by setting the affects me too (although it seems that this information is not so easily accessible when browsing or looking at bugs, but this might change in the future).
