If you search for bugs like "second resume", you'll find lots of different types of laptops all with the exact same problem. I did some googling and found this: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11963 I also found the tboot project on Sourceforge, which is an Intel-created program that's supposed to address issues with Intel TXT on Linux. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dbus It would be useful to have a tool that shows which programs are using dbus how much, perhaps analogous to top(1). Rationale: on bug #295741 a lot of the discussion was about whether the problem is a memory leak (and thus a bug of dbus) or due to overuse of dbus by some other program (and thus a bug of that program). However, no procedure was offered to find out which program! dbus-monitor(1) possibly outputs all the required information, but one would still need something to calculate stats (eg count the number of outstanding method calls, with or without timeouts; translate bus IDs into process IDs and hence program names; etc). ** Affects: dbus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- how to find which programs are over-using dbus? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/524250 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 521721] Re: [TOSHIBA Satellite A300] suspend/resume failure [non-free: fglrx]
Andreas, I found an existing bug report for my hardware and marked it as applying to me (#234519). There are actually dozens of similar bug reports for various hardware (just search for "second resume"), many of which I suspect are all due to the kernel bug I linked to earlier. It doesn't actually apply to me anymore, unfortunately, since my wife insisted that I re-install Windows. I can't really blame her, considering a laptop that can't suspense/resume isn't terribly useful. Thankyou for the extra information. You may wish to try installing the "hplip" package as this should help with HP printers. If this does not resolve your issue, can you please also run "apport-collect -p cups 523005" (without the quotes) from a terminal window? This collects the necessary debugging information that is required to help diagnose your issue. [Bug 477430] Re: grub 2 error: out of disk. failed to boot default entries. press any key to continue...
Hello, First off, sorry about the status changes. I have to be more careful when I click. Anyway, this bug also affects me. Although my case might be unique. I installed Ubuntu-9.10 to an SD card and with a purposefully made kernel i was able to get it to boot from that. Then for no reason I can come up with I started getting this "error: out of disk". I played around with manually reinstalling GRUB2 which for a while only seemed to make matters worse. Now I am back to the "error: out of disk". A little GRUB2 specific info: I get the out of disk error when I try a few commands from the grub rescue> prompt the error leaves me at: grub rescue> insmod /boot/grub/normal.mod error: out of disk -- grub 2 error: out of disk. failed to boot default entries. press any key to continue... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/477430 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 329397] Re: Invalid packets on long running queries
Attached is a patch which hopefully fixes #329397. Please try it out and see if it works. I will commit/push this code soon but wanted to see some comments first. What I did was refactoring the MySQLBaseConnection.recv() method: * Keeps reading in chunks from socket until needed, get rid of MSG_WAITALL * Consecutive packets are kept in a deque. If there is something in the deque, recv() will first use that data. Overall, I think this is also faster. ** Patch added: "Refactoring recv()" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/39389862/bug_lp329397.patch -- Invalid packets on long running queries https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/329397 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
