I solved it by doing a clean (relatively anyway) install, so it was an upgrade issue either with cruft on my box or some small incompat. anyway, solved, but not through detective work Jeremy Foshee wrote: > Hi nobodie, > > This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in > it recently. [Bug 446146] Re: Several Huawei USB dongle don't work with kernel 2.6.31-12.40 (2.6.31.1 update related)
@Martin Wildam: Here is need explained answer, so let me describe my short story. I bought my first 3g modem in the last December. Network Manager detected it without any problems. Then I used it often for a couple of week. It started to work anyhow after some time. Sometimes it was detected after reboot, sometimes on specific usb port. The modem even was not always detectable. Then I didn't use it more than a month. I checked it recently, now the modem is detected from any USB port. -- Several Huawei USB dongle don't work with kernel 2.6.31-12.40 (2.6.31.1 update related) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/446146 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 338328] Re: Acer Aspire 5920G - some Fn keys not working
I tried with the daily Lucid live cd, and I'm able to see the brightness window - so there must be something wrong in my hard disk installation - I've first installed Lucid in alpha 1 and I've been upgrading since (I've tried with a new user so it must be a system setting). So the only problem that remains is the 5 levels of brightness instead of 10 when I blacklist the video module. [Bug 426306] Re: [FUJITSU SIEMENS ESPRIMO Mobile V6505] hibernate/resume failure
Hi robertoszym, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 426306 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. On second thought, MeetMe needs /dev/dahdi/dummy or it simply won't work. So a note in the README (or even the package description) and a Recommends: for the dahdi driver are the minimum requirement. Conflicting goals, but then if you set up Asterisk as a SIP-only PBX on a resource-limited small machine, ideally without routing the actual audio through it, you're unlikely to host conference calls … -- make dahdi a suggests or recommends https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/507007 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 538642] [NEW] svscan restart problems
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: daemontools The way daemontools starts up, at present, is: * init or upstart runs svscanboot * svscanboot runs some clean up, then calls svscan, piped into readproctitle If svscanboot dies, init will restart it as expected, though it will tend to leave an svscan instance sitting around. The svc -dx call at the start of the boot script leaves that disconnected; the new svscan process starts up fresh subprocesses. However, if the initial svscan process dies, it's not restarted again. The problem seems to be that the svscanboot script is still waiting on the readproctitle child process. That should exit, according to http://cr.yp.to/daemontools/readproctitle.html when it reaches the end of the input, but even though the svscan process that was connected to it's stdin has exited, this doesn't happen. Any idea how we can fix this? Hi Aurril, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 422718 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. [Bug 425114] Re: regression: touchscreen not working anymore
Hi jtlb, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 425114 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great.
