[Bug 439126] Re: Replace Human Icon style with Humanity for OpenOffice
@Munchkinguy: Since the folder colors have been updated there is a mismatch in the folder colors. Also , the save and save as icons are different colors[yellow instead of green] , seems you have used the Karmic icons to fix this? [Bug 569660] [NEW] Design Studio SIGSEGV While Testing HelloWorld - libxul.so
Public bug reported: Config: Karmic Koala and CE running on Ubuntu server. This started as a problem getting Design Studio to display the Test screen for HelloWorld.xaction in Getting Started. There's a thread in the Community Forum on this. I found a dependence missing: libxpcom.so. As locate found it in a "xul" directory, Synaptic reported that package xulrunner provided XUL and XPCOM so I installed it. Presto, Design Studio can display the test screen but a lot of things got removed, e.g. firefox and eclipse, so this was a concern. I started the BI Server, loaded HelloWorld.xaction into Design Studio, configure it with name and message, then selected the Test capability. Presto, Design Studio can "GenerateURL" for the action sequence but, when attempting to "Test Server" I get the SIGSEGV. OK, so I guess xulrunner is obsolete and I went back to xulrunner-1.9.1 then reinstalled the things that got removed. Presto, I can't Test HelloWorld again but firefox is back. It may be that the symbolic links to xul libraries in /usr/lib have not been correctly updated to reflect the latest (?) version 1.9.1.9. I'll investigate tomorrow and fiddle with the symbolic links trying to have everything point to 1.9.1.9 as is possible. Config: Eclipse 3.2.2, Ubuntu server 9.10, Pentaho CE version 3.5.2 ** Affects: openjdk-6 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Design Studio SIGSEGV While Testing HelloWorld - libxul.so https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569660 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Jeremy, Thanks for the followup. I have to date not yet been able to get the volume to be adjustable within the Gnome interface (using the control next to the clock), but was successful in installing a mixer application and controlling it (but still not by the multimedia buttons). I would propose closing this activity- unless there is demand from anyone else in the community. [Bug 569653] Re: Lucid freezes on boot
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Binary package hint: packagekit A couple of weeks ago I sintalled the new prerelease of lucid. The first installation went OK; but when I later upgraded the packages I could no longer boot this partition. I have a number of kernels installed (enclose menu.lst). Out of these kernels the only one that I can use to log onto the system are the recovery versions of 2.6.27-7 and 2.6.28-18; all the other freeze during the boot. If I start in recovery mode, and then start up X-windows, then I seem to loose the keyboard and the mouse, so I have to revert to the on/off button to close the system. By using one of these old kernels I was yesterday able to update the system so that it is now supposedly the current version of the LTS lucid, but I still have the same problem when booting. - I can get a non-graphic version up and running using the two oldest - kernels, and I can also access the lucid partition graphically by - starting up an older karmik kernel. + I can get a non-graphic version up and running using the two oldest kernels, and I can also access the lucid partition graphically by starting up an older karmik kernel. + --- + AlsaDevices: + total 0 + drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 60 2010-04-25 08:49 by-id + drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 80 2010-04-25 08:49 by-path + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.18rc3. + AplayDevices: aplay: device_list:223: no soundcards found... + Architecture: i386 + ArecordDevices: arecord: device_list:223: no soundcards found... + AudioDevicesInUse: Error: command ['fuser', '-v', '/dev/dsp', '/dev/dsp1', '/dev/snd/by-path', '/dev/snd/by-id', '/dev/sequencer2', '/dev/sequencer', '/dev/seq'] failed with exit code 1: + CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + CurrentDmesg: + [ 30.656010] eth0: no IPv6 routers present + [ 87.016018] Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = -117240025 ns) + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=/dev/sdb5 + IwConfig: + lono wireless extensions. + + eth0 no wireless extensions. + MachineType: To Be Filled By O.E.M. [Bug 498494] Re: Can't boot with 2.6.31-17 kernel after update from 9.04 to 9.10
Hello. Unfortunately an issue still remains after kernel upgrades to versions 2.6.31-17, 2.6.31-18 and so on to 2.6.31-21. One possibility to boot system is to use in GRUB menu.lst such record: title Ubuntu 9.10, kernel 2.6.31-21-generic root(hd0,0) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-21-generic root=hda1 ro quiet splash initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.28-17-generic quiet (Load initrd from 2.6.28-17-generic next load 2.6.31-21 kernel). I could not find the description of similar problems in the Internet. Probably, it is a problem appears only at me. Unfortunately, I do not presume to make experiments with systems an on my workstation computer. It is necessary for me for business. You can cancel this ticket. [Bug 561049] Re: after upgrade to lucid, xorg frequently fails to start properly using nvidia-current
Aha! An apt-get dist-upgrade brought me to kernel 2.6.32-21. Yeesh, I'm a little grumpy that it was so hard to find out about this. Maybe this was in a README that I didn't read? I had no idea that a dist-upgrade would do anything more than an upgrade, once you were already on the current version of the OS (letter of the alphabet in the ubuntu naming scheme). I just did 30 reboots with no problems, so it looks like I'm all set now. [Bug 468977] Re: [ASUSTeK Computer Inc. M70TL] hibernate/resume failure [non-free: slamr fglrx]
Hi, just installed Lucid, and now it hibernate works, except that it doesn't shutdown after hibernating, have to switch off the computer manually. And interestingly, Standby doesn't work any more, which it did in Karmic... But since these two issues are different ones, I'll close this now. [Bug 569654] [NEW] no zero width joiner
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: language-support-input-ne I've been trying to use the Romanized Nepali input method with Lucid Beta (10.4). It works quite well, except where one would expect the zero width joiner character to be, the "=" sign still prints. This makes the creation of certain half characters very difficult. "न्न" for instance is not used very much. But, in order to get "न्न" the zwj character is needed. I have tried setting options in the layouts section of the keyboard preferences, but these do not seem to change anything. That, of course, may be the entire bug, but I am not sure where to file that. Workaround: For now, I am using the character map to copy the zwj character, and then using ctrl-v when I need it. This works for my purposes but is obviously not ideal. ** Affects: language-support-input-ne (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- no zero width joiner https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569654 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
