[Bug 567195] Re: Crashes on startup with "IndexError: list index out of range"
i can confirm this bug. in /usr/share/system-config-lvm/Multipath.py system-config-lvm fetches the contents of /dev with "/bin/ls -l" (line 36 ff) it then iterates over all block devices by searching for lines starting with 'b' (like /bin/ls -l /dev | grep ^b) after that it tries to add the tuple ['/dev/' + words[9], words[4].rstrip(','), words[5]] to an array, where words[0...9] are the respective words in every line of ls output. the problem is, that words[9] does not exist, because all lines do only contain 9 words (0-8). if i change block_devices.append(['/dev/' + words[9], words[4].rstrip(','), words[5]]) to block_devices.append(['/dev/' + words[8], words[4].rstrip(','), words[5]]) system-config-lvm starts up normally and shows the partitions and lvm volumes correctly. im not sure how this could not get noticed early, but maybe the multipath code is only called in certain configurations. ** Changed in: system-config-lvm (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- Crashes on startup with "IndexError: list index out of range" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/567195 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 572707] Re: gthumb freezes shortcut gimp
I got your point. I should have thought about that. But, interestingly, on my machine the 0 key says gimp-remote %F & It does not work. And I don't have any idea what is "gimp-remote". Because of that, I created a hotkey like this gimp %F & That solves my problem. But gThumb is problematic. [Bug 573645] Re: Certain web pages cannot be opened
This regression appeared at the worse time ever, i.e. when almost all the builders were re-affected to another task, leaving a really long queue of unbuilt packages behind (queue estimated to ~5 days, still growing). Once the builders are back, this will return to normal. [Bug 574217] [NEW] when 2+ bluetooth devices - only one automatically mounted on start/wake
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: bluez I got two bluetooth input devices: - apple wireless keyboard - apple magic mouse Both paired successfully. After each wake or start only one of them is automatically working. The other one (although appearing as "connected" in the bluetooth indicator applet) is not - you have to disconnect and connect it manually to get it working. This happened to the mouse first. [Bug 540801] Re: X server starts before Plymouth, or a very short time after (no or brief splash)
Upgraded to Lucid a few days ago, and I got this problem too. I have an Acer Aspire 5620, ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 graphic card with opensource drivers. Just after grub i get a black screen with a blinking cursor on the top left corner, and just before getting to the desktop (I have auto login) i see a glimpse of splash screen and then white pixel stripes for another brief instant, and then i get to the desktop. I didn't try the fix in comment #2, probably it would fix the issue, however I prefer to wait for an actual solution 'cause I agree with comment #67: since a lot of Lucid users will be affected from this bug, and a nice boot experience is the first impact with the newly installed OS, surely saving a few seconds of boot time isn't worth that level of adverse user impact. I like a faster boot, but I also agree that in this case priorities should be reevaluated. So, RB does not actually try to talk to it as a music player, but it seems the act of checking _whether_ it is an MTP player already distracts the mouse. Now detach it again, open Rhythmbox, press Enter some 10 times (so that you get enough free space in the Terminal to see where the new output starts), attach the mouse again. [Bug 554009] Re: Resume from disk (swapfile) fails
Hello, yes, PAGE_SIZE was one of my concerns too. I just borrowed those few lines from karmic's resume script, assuming they were correct. In the meantime I got blkid source code and I made a small program which does the same (check the device and prints the 'type' field) getting the page size from the system through the getpagesize() function. For some reason, anyway, it works in my system but it doesn't work in the initramfs environment yet. I need to investigate further on this. I attach this small program so you can have a view on it. I'll try to further reduce it and to check why it is not working in the initramfs. It's usage is: probe devname offset Offset can be provided or not (if not it assumes offset=0). It does the calculation getting the page size using getpagesize(). ** Attachment added: "Small prog to check and print the type of a block device." http://launchpadlibrarian.net/47464961/probe.c -- Resume from disk (swapfile) fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554009 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

My current kernel: # uname -r 2.6.32-21-generic (System was brought up-to-date today) My old config (that worked on 9.04 and before): # /etc/lirc/hardware.conf # #Chosen Remote Control REMOTE="PVR" REMOTE_MODULES="lirc_dev lirc_i2c" REMOTE_DRIVER="" REMOTE_DEVICE="/dev/lirc0" REMOTE_LIRCD_CONF="hauppauge/lircd.conf.hauppauge" REMOTE_LIRCD_ARGS="" My new config (that works now on 10.04) # /etc/lirc/hardware.conf # #Chosen Remote Control REMOTE="Hauppauge TV card" REMOTE_MODULES="ir_kbd_i2c lirc_dev lirc_i2c" REMOTE_DRIVER="dev/input" REMOTE_DEVICE="/dev/input/event4" REMOTE_LIRCD_CONF="hauppauge/lircd.conf.hauppauge" REMOTE_LIRCD_ARGS="" dmesg output that let me know ir_kbd_i2c was looking good: [ 1257.753138] input: i2c IR (CX23418 Z8F0811 Hauppau as /devices/virtual/input/input6 [ 1257.753306] ir-kbd-i2c: i2c IR (CX23418 Z8F0811 Hauppau detected at i2c-0/0-0071/ir0 [cx18 i2c driver #0-0] Found which /dev/intput/event* device it was by looking at /proc/bus/input/devices I: Bus=0018 Vendor= Product= Version= N: Name="i2c IR (CX23418 Z8F0811 Hauppau" P: Phys=i2c-0/0-0071/ir0 S: Sysfs=/devices/virtual/input/input6 U: Uniq= H: Handlers=kbd event4 B: EV=13 B: KEY=100fc312 214a802 0 0 0 0 18000 41a8 4801 9e1680 0 0 1ffc Fired up irw and tested a few events 8001018f 00 green HVR-1100 8001018f 01 green HVR-1100 8001018f 02 green HVR-1100 800100ae 00 Back/edit HVR-1100 I think the codes for some things may have changed, as I believe previously the codes were recognized as a PVR-350 (also note the typo "Back/edit" not "Back/exit"). [Bug 566379] Re: [i855] X doesn't start with kernel 2.6.32-21 unless passing i915.modeset=1
Had the same problem. My Acer TravelMate 662 laptop (Intel 855GM) refused to boot with Lucid. Adding boot option i915.modeset=1 fixed this problem. Afterwards I was experiencing X crashes when playing videos with totem. Installing the mainline kernel 2.6.33.3 provided by Ubuntu finally fixed all my problems, even the X crashes: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.33.3-lucid/ -- [i855] X doesn't start with kernel 2.6.32-21 unless passing i915.modeset=1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/566379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 569900] Re: mount: mounting /dev/md0 on /root/ failed: Invalid argument
I zero'd the drives using dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sd{a,b,c} bs=4k and still the system will not boot after install completes, with the same "mounting failed: invalid argument". I also have the md1p1 device as does Dustin. If I boot into Live CD or even Recovery mode off of the 10.04 Server CD I can see and mount the md* devices with no problems. I do see that md0 is syncing. -- mount: mounting /dev/md0 on /root/ failed: Invalid argument https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569900 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
