[Bug 621595] [NEW] An empty window pops up with some worksheet modification related options
Public bug reported: Hi, I'm running Openoffice's Calc 3.2. in Xubuntu Lucid (10.4) I tried to rename, add or copy/move a worksheet without success, because after clicking the right mouse and choosing for instance "rename", an empty window pops up. The change sheet's color and delete options, as well as other options not related with sheets work fine so far. I also use the Writer module, where I have not faced problems. I think that the problem started as I updated Xubuntu to Lucid 10.4. I have tried to install Openoffice again, but it did not help. In Ubuntu's forum's question # 120750 I was advised to reset Openoffice's settings and options by renaming the .openoffice.org folder in my home directory, but it did not help either. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- An empty window pops up with some worksheet modification related options https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/621595 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

hello Gerardo Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 621583] [NEW] Typo in package description
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: exaile Argg... I just introduced a typo in the package description. It of course should be: Originally conceived to be similar in style and function to KDE's Amarok 1, Exaile uses the GTK+ widget toolkit. [Bug 621578] [NEW] Hauppauge hvr-2200 stops working when Hauppauge hvr-1110 is connected
Public bug reported: Bug is with the v4l/dvb subsystem, saa7164 driver. I am using Mythbuntu 10.04 and have linux-firmware-nonfree from: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware-nonfree/+bug/579783 I have been happily using Mythbuntu with a Hauppauge hvr-2200 dual tuner DVB-T for many months (thanks Steven Toth!) and it records all my TV in MythTV. NZ has three DVB-T multiplexes, so I bought a second single-tuner DVB-T card, a Hauppauge hvr-1110, to cover the third multiplex and mean that, with multirec, I can record all channels and never hit a conflict. As I say, the hvr-2200 works really well. When I put the hvr-1110 in (and install the non-free firmware linked above), the hvr-1110 registers as an adapter and plays TV well as well. Unfortunately, when I have both cards in with their firmware, the hvr-1110 stops the hvr-2220 registering its two adapters. Dmesg is attached. I have now (before reporting the bug) removed the hvr-1110 so that I am back to my working dual-tuner hvr-2200 configuration. Interestingly to me, when I only have the hvr-2200 firmware installed, but with both cards in the machine, all three adapters register (create /dev/dvb/ nodes), but clearly only the hvr-2200 adapters actually work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I saw some things in dmesg about IRQ conflicts, but I really have no idea. [Bug 621577] [NEW] Applications should be Unicode-sorted
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity-place-applications It appears that applications are currently sorted by code-point comparisons (i.e. the numeric Unicode value is higher or lower). But this isn't the Right Way to sort Unicode strings. For example, see the attached screenshot. Where "Déjà Dup Backup Utility" comes after "Dogtail Recorder". The Right Way way of sorting Unicode strings is according to the UCA: http://unicode.org/reports/tr10/ (which, to me, is pretty fascinating; it's a surprisingly complicated problem). This is the same method used by the Software Center to sort applications (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter#def-alphabetically). There is a library, libicu that includes methods for sorting strings. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity-place-applications I was looking around the applications place and one thing bugged me: many labels were ellipsized and just didn't give much to go on. Chris thanks for the quick response, that confirms the problem perfectly. I went ahead and forwarded the bug upstream. Probably best to just wait a while for a patch from them.
