[Bug 401823] Re: Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead

2010-09-22 Thread rajhanschinmay
I am also getting this error very frequently.

Firefox:
(firefox-bin:2043): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead

Seamonkey:
(seamonkey-2.0-bin:2193): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead

Opera:
(operapluginwrapper:2507): Gdk-WARNING **: XID collision, trouble ahead

I am running my browsers via a session created using Putty and ssh onto
a linux Ubuntu 10.04 OS.

I think this is to do with Adobe flash player only else how come 3
browsers have the same problem/

Kindly solve it and let all of us know the solutions if any.

Thanking you.

[Bug 645765] [NEW] Netbook installer doesn't reboot after installation completes on Lenovo S10

2010-09-22 Thread Jeff Lane
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Installed Maverick Netbook on my Lenovo S-10 using the ISO as of 21
Sept.

After installation completes it says that installation is complete and I
need to reboot. I click OK, and that's it. Nothing.

In the upper right corner, the power icon is red, indicating that a
reboot is required, however if I click the red power icon, the only
options I have are suspend and hibernate. There is no reboot option.

I ended up just hard-resetting the system because when I hit ctrl-alt-F1
to get a console to manually reboot, the system locked up.

[Bug 613934] Re: [FFe] Please sync apache-mime4j from Debian unstable (main)

2010-09-22 Thread Fabrice Coutadeur
yes: it has been fixed in Debian with version 5.0-4 and this version has
been synced on the 25th of August. That's why the package now builds in
Maverick (see comment 6).

Just in case, I've just checked and the package still builds and install
fine.

Thanks,
Fabrice

[Bug 625787] Re: utsrelease.h not found during DKMS build

2010-09-22 Thread Matthew Holtz
Just want to note that this is a different issue from
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/642518 .
The issue there has to do with a kernel change caused fglrx not to
compile. This change seems to be related to the fact that the ATI
driver cannot make configure because of header files not existing in the
expected locations. That is, we need a new fglrx from ATI that
understands the new kernel header layout.

Re: [Bug 645724] Re: Ibus applet in unity does not allow selection of menu entries by mouse.

2010-09-22 Thread Narayanan N
It was always the case with me if the daemon is automatically started. I
had migrated from lucid, so to make sure that the problem is not with old
account settings, I created a new account to check. The same problem is
there also.

Then I though of using strace to get some info. Strangely enough when I
start strace ibus-daemon, it works fine. Then I tried ibus-daemon on the
terminal without strace. It does not work then. If I try strace ibus-daemon
-d, the strace info is not displayed after it goes to daemon mode.

So i am at loss of what can be done to get to the problem. I can always
reproduce it. But I am not sure how or why. If you have any ideas that I can
try, I would be happy to try it out.

thanks
narayanan

I'd like confirmation from Robert that the patch suffices for him.
The resulting package works on my system, but I don't want to risk
baggage in the upstart script unless we're sure it actually fixes a
problem, even if it is (or so far appears) innocuous.

[Bug 71913] Re: [nvidia] X crash in compPaintWindowBackground

2010-09-22 Thread Ariel Faigon
A very similar bug and stack trace starting at:

   /usr/bin/Xorg(FontFileCompleteXLFD ...)

and causing firefox to crash Xorg (both nvidia and intel drivers) with
SEGV in a reproducible way on certain web pages.

Appears on this RedHat bugzilla:

   https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=498500

It suggest a workaround as follows:

1) edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

2) Add the following line to "Section "Device":
  Option "XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps"

3) restart Xorg

I'm not seeing this bug on Ubuntu (I was seeing it consistently and
frequently on RHEL5, on different hardware though)

Just thought it may be helpful to mention it here.
