[Bug 651007] Re: Does not correctly write resolv.conf
My /etc/resolv.conf is a symlink to /etc/resolvconf/run/resolv.conf. These days I find the quirks. My computer is directly connected to an ADSL modem using DSL in nm. In this scenario, I get the VPN DNS servers below the ones from my ISP. Since the ISP provides two servers, I only get one DNS from my VPN appended to them. I also confirmed this using PPTP VPN in nm. Then I get a home router. I connect the router to the modem to dial up. My computer is behind the router. In this scenario, I get the VPN DNS servers above the ones from my router. Like below for PPTP: nameserver 8.8.8.8 nameserver 8.8.4.4 nameserver 192.168.1.1 If VPN gives 3 or more DNS servers, then the one from the router will be pushed out. It seems nm does the DNS stuff different way it the above scenarios. I tested that the openvpn command client prepends the DNS servers from the VPN. So I wonder if nm will do this the same way, preferably prepend them? -- Does not correctly write resolv.conf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/651007 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 580961] Re: unzip fails to deal correctly with filename encodings
I would vote for increasing priority of this bug. Unzip in this version is really useless and using it is dangerous. [Bug 655554] [NEW] Dolphin 1.5 can't paste files to remote smb folder
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dolphin After upgrading to Kubuntu 10.10 beta, Dolphin can't paste files to remote smb folders (Windows shares). Using Konqueror 4.5.1, I can paste the same files into the same remote smb folder with no problem whatsoever. Moreover, up to Kubuntu 10.04, Dolphin worked like a charm and copied any file gracefully (into the same shared folder). No settings were changed in our file server recently. Here's my workflow where the problem occurs: 1. Have a Windows PC called 'syros' to serve some folder, i.e. Data 2. Open Dolphin, press Ctrl+L, enter smb://username:passw...@syros/DATA 3. Files are displayed. 4. Copy a local file (i.e. filename.xls) and paste it into the the remote folder. 5. Dolphin creates a pseudofile but displays a message like this: "Could not write to file smb://dkalama...@syros/DATA/filename.xls" The strange thing is that I can still create remote files from Dolphin (right click while viewing the remote folder > Create New > Text file) and save any of them. Any ideas? ** Affects: dolphin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Dolphin 1.5 can't paste files to remote smb folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/64 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to dolphin in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 651260] Re: Use X-GNOME-FullName over Name for more comprehensive entries
Michael Vogt pinged me about this bug, so just chiming in here for completeness. I'm pretty sure this wont cause problems for Unity. The one place that comes to mind is when launching s-c to install an app from the Availabale group in the apps place. In that case we fire off 'software- center $pkgname/$name' (as I agreed with Michael at the platform sprint). If we now get X-GNOME-FullName instead of Name, this might confuse s-c? -- Use X-GNOME-FullName over Name for more comprehensive entries https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/651260 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 655532] [NEW] menu blur inconsistent
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gtk2-engines-murrine I noticed this after I updated to the newest version in Maverick. The blur is a really nice touch, but it doesn't span the entire menu length. If any of the menus are shorter then what's shown in the picture, then it works as expected. [Bug 97251] Re: screen turns off after 20 minutes even when playing in fullscreen
Hi, i just installed ubuntu of my girlfriend's pc, because i try to convince her to use it (she has xp...). The problem is that pc go to sleep while she is watching fullscreen flash videos. I remember that i had this problem a long time ago on ubuntu (on my pc) and i think this is more than a "low" issue. After a search on internet, i didn't found any other fix than running a command or clicking on an applet to inhibit the screensaver EACH TIME i want to see a fullscreen video. I don't want to be rude but ubuntu want to be a perfect linux desktop and this bug is really annoying for non-geek people. Ubuntu has to be capable on running fullscreen videos / flash videos without disturbing the user. I mean, it need to be automatic because the argument "On windows, i can watch my videos quietly" is stronger than anything else. BTW, her pc is running an up-to-date maverick.
